Hello, they found all sinus stuff on the monitor but nothing concerning.  Lots of spikes just sitting but he said not to worry about it.  The cardiologist agreed with the internal doc to check out my thyroid more.  How are you doing?  I wont be on this site as much anymore.  I will always use it because I love the heart and weigh tracker but I started my own blog/forum called postpartumillness.com.  Im 95% started but its online, ready to go and taking a lot of my time.  Its specifically for moms and illness.  Ill always come back here and check in.  Med help has been so good to me.

You posted a response for me a while ago and just wanted to say thanks. I am now on 1/2 atenonl in evening and 1/4 in am... and it has helped SO much. I was on toperal XL ( post you replied to) and hated it, lots of nausea and headaches... which I never have.
Thanks for your inspiration and good luck to you.
This perimenipause/menopause has completely changed my lifestyle and the support from you and others is so kind and helpful... thanks !

Just responding back to your last note.  My brady is not from anxiety.  Your docs talk a lot about anxiety.  My cardio says that anxiety cant make your heart slow down like mine does.  Speed up yes but not slow down like that.  The brady doesnt give me anxiety anyways.  I actually kind of like it because it seems like my heart is getting a rest after all the tach.  They are running tyroid tests and I will get the results on the second.  I guess some of my new symptoms point to thyroid.  They are also putting me on a 2 week holter again so that should be fun.

How are you doing?  I like that the weather is changing but I was really hoping for more rain so that we dont have to ration this summer.

Nope, an SSRI is more like Zoloft - Selective Seratonin Uptake Inhibitors.  Xanax is a benzodiazepine - they are more like the quick hitters for this kind of thing.  They can make a difference right away, but they leave your system pretty quickly, too.  So they don't (and shouldn't) help you long term.  Too addictive long term, too.  So it seemed like an SSRI would be a better fit.

Something I do during our off season is work on websites.  I have a few that earn the family a bit of money - so I guess if all else fails I can dig myself into that.  Lol - I was thinking about building a site to help PVC sufferers - there seems to be a non-stop supply of new people here looking for information.

I still have the monitor ('till the 26th), but am going to return it early.

Drink more tea. :)

No Xanax for me.  Just saw my doc today, we talked things over, he's of the opinion that an SSRI would be beneficial, but the way I've been feeling lately I'm resisting the idea of taking something.  So we both agreed that I would think on it, and if we decide to move forward, we can.  So I'm afraid that for now I can't give you a blow-by-blow of my "trip."

Hope you are well.

The ability to get instant feedback has been nice - we took the kids to an indoor waterpark on Friday/Saturday , and about an hour before we left I had what for me was a bigger "event" - I knew I was going to worry about it through the whole trip, so I called in and transmitted it, got confirmation that it was again a very short burst of tachycardia, the same things the cardio said not to worry about.  With that I was able to put it out of my mind within minutes of having the episode, and not worry about it for the trip.

But I think I may cave on the Xanax thing.  The stressors that caused my symptoms in the first place are still there and are not likely to change in the near future, and on some days it makes me feel pretty much useless.  I hate it, but I've got to try something.

Guess I can't stay away...

Your little flutters, as you called them - are those your PVC's you're referring to, or short bursts of a fast rate?

Sounds like we're going in opposite directions - I've had PVC's for a long while and this flutter stuff is new to me, and you've had the fast rate/PAT/whatever for a long while and are now getting PVC's.

Anyway, just checking in - hope things are going well over there.

I think I'm just mentally worn out from having this monitor for this long.  I really haven't had many PAC/PVC's throughout the whole process - I think I had 5 yesterday.  And only 2 or 3 of the very short bursts of SVT or whatever my cardio wanted to call it.  I'm supposed to keep wearing the monitor until the 26th, so two more weeks.  I think my heart misbehaved enough for the monitor, now I think I'd like it to just go back to normal.

Good for you on the banana - try some nuts, too.  They are loaded with cholesterol lowering stuff, and they have a lot of magnesium, too.  I like the Planters premium mixed nuts, get 'em at Sam's Club.  I've begun wondering if cutting out nuts a few months ago helped precipitate my recent run, now that I know the good those nuts have.  If you don't like the salted, you could also try plain, unsalted almonds and walnuts.  Crush 'em up in salads or eat 'em whole.

Be well.

Thanks for all the help last week.  Sorry I didnt get back to you.  I hadnt gone to Acupuncture in a month and I realized that was probably part of my problem.  She did a really aggressive treatment that took it out of me and then I did some massage therapy Saturday that kicked my butt.  I didnt think that massage could do that.  Ive had tons of them with no issues.  I was down the whole weekend but am feeling better now.  Thanks for the help.  The doc wants to run tests again because of all the bradycardia and tach events I have been having over the past week.

Hope you are well,
Lucy

Just a quick note to say hi!

Hi Jodie. It was cancelled due to the snow and I have been in bigeminy this afternoon after eating a couple of packets of crisps; lasted about 25 minutes, awful, awful, awful. It was lovely to talk to you too. Jon goes to work tonight ( Monday ) at 10.30pm which is 2.30pm your time. Shall I ring you then > are you busy ? Have only just found this note, there wasn't any notification for it. I am SO scared, I can't tell you.  Best wishes. Julie

Hi Frenchie -

Thanks for the note.  It was a journal posting that you saw, I think.  From the monitor transmission over the phone to my hospital I could hear that it wasn't a PVC - thinking it was some sort of SVT, but a very short run of it.  But the transmission took place on Saturday, and my doctor won't see it until Monday.  So I don't have any kind of diagnosis yet.

On the weekends I have to transmit to our ER, and I guess they didn't think it was important enough for me to come in (nor did I), so I guess that's a good sign.

But from all I've read here, I'm thinking this is still pretty benign, so I don't anticipate much drama tomorrow.  The main thing I want to find out is if this presents increased danger if it occurs while I'm exercising, and if so, how much.  Thx again.

Hi Jodie~I just wanted to say "hello" and thank you for your posts, they have helped me so much.

Your photos are lovely, you have a very nice looking daughter and you look as great as she does, that is wonderful.

I was born in California, Santa Barbara, but, we moved when I was three, so, I do not remember it.

My fiance` is very relieved, I bet, that I have found this forums and friends that I can relate too, I think I get to him at times, he tries, but, it is not the same as folks who have these "flutters".

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs
Susie (SassyLassie)

Hi Jodie - Here's the URL of the stuff I drink:  http://www.amazon.com/Organic-Lemon-Balm-Tea-bags/dp/B0011DQSBA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1232662211&sr=8-1

Like I said, it might be a placebo effect.  I searched high and low to make sure that this would not be something that if I drank it for years would cause me problems, and I haven't found anything to indicate that.  I guess it's also used as a flavoring in ice cream.  You can try to grow it from seed, but I found it pretty hard to grow.  Hundreds of seeds produced only a few plants, and it took 15 months or so for the seeds to even germinate.  Amazon will certainly be much faster.  :)
