Gish is a good guy and the real deal. He read my biopsy but was too busy and without a NP to take on management of my tx. He turned me over to another doc in his practice and that worked out GREAT. I had access to Gish for the big decisions (I had cirrhosis which complicated things) plus I had the full attention of another smart and caring doc and medical team. It was a great experience, as these things go.
Dr. Gish was at the other transplant center here in SF. CPMC. Not were I go. U.C.S.F. So I have no personal experience with him. Through the grapevine I have heard nothing but good things about him. Someone else on the forum treated with him in Las Vegas or Reno I believe. You could post and ask if anyone has treated with him. I know he has written a lot of studies also so I would say he is one of the top hepatologists anywhere. I don't think you can go wrong with him.
So sorry to hear that you relapsed after all those weeks. One does want a reward of SVR after doing all that time. My ex relapsed a year ago and I saw the pain he went through, so my heart bleeds for you as well. I hope that SVR will be yours sometime in the future. Best wishes, Zazza.
