Hi there. I was also researching a humming habit my 9 year old son has picked up. He is a healthy, intelligent, boy.Nothing medically wrong. 2 months ago, after a cold/sore throat, he picked up this humming habit. He humms when he's watching tv and eating and I don't know what to do about it.

How did you get your grandson to stop without hurting his feelings? I'm so worried that he's doing this in school as well, though no one has said anything yet, but it DOES worry me and I was thinking of asking the doctor for his opinion, but he doesn't have any other tics or medical symptoms, so I believe that it's just a bad habit...question is, how do I break it?

Can you please send some of your wisdom and experience my way?
I'd be very thankful.
