Hi Dr Heinrik,
My dad was diagnosed with at least stage 1 colon cancer 1 and a half year ago and he got part of his colon removed. After the surgery he did go for regular check-ups and CT. The lowest CEA reading he got was end last year at 2.5 and it went up to 2.9 and 3.5 after every 3 months. The last reading (last week) was 3.7 and his surgent asked him back for a pull in CT.
I am worry and his CEA when the cancer was found was 4.5. What other procedures we could expect from the surgeon if a CT is clean or otherwise?

My husband had part of his prostate removed almost 3 mo,s ago and has severe groin pain all cat scans and ultra sounds have come back negative. Dr's can't give us a straight answer just more drugs for pain. maybe nerve damage maybe not. HAVE U EVER EXPERIENCED SOMETHING LIKE THIS. Don't know what to do

Dr Heinnik
Thank you for all of your responses to Angie - I have been waiting for some reply from PaulMD or anyone and what you have told her has helped me alot.
My 86 yr mother in law was diagnosed in Feb. with stage 4 lung cancer - into her adrenal gland and liver. She was given 6 months. She stopped taking her bp, colesterol and heart meds and turned down chemo. She took herself off of the oxygen about a month ago and is only on hycodan for the extreme cough. She eats goes through nausea and vomiting every 3 to 4 days, the numbness in the leg has gone.
What I don't understand is the oxygen - is it normal to go off of the oxygen? She can't walk 10 feet to the bathroom and being out of breath and coughing but she will not put it on. Will the cough go away at all?
