Just a quick note to say hi!

Hi

Thanks for your comments but the IVF clinic advised me that my AMH should be 5 and above and that mine was too low.

And they said that i would have to get a dona egg and not my own and they also want me to get this from Spain.  What is going on is said to myself.

Im so down i dont know which way to go..

Thanks for thinking of me yesterday!  I want to buy a fetal doppler now!  Everything seems to be going A-ok!  I'm still fatigued, but my nausea is subsiding. I'm sleeping terrible, toss and turn most of the night, I wake up exhausted.  We have a $2000 mattress set too!  So much for that!  That sounds so cute about Chloe.  I can't wait til my son starts activities, well even starts talking!  I'm dying to have a conversation with him!!  He can only say a few words.  My gut instinct tells me I'm having a girl.  I predicted my son, so we'll see!  Everyone says girls are easier than boys, if that's the case BRING IT ON...cause my son is killing me!!! He's all BOY! My husband spoils him rotten!  Definitely a Daddys boy!  I'll be thinking and praying for a BFP for you Lisa!  Take care, Pam

Hi Lisa, just checking in to see how you're doing.  Are you in the 2ww yet?  How are you adapting to Chloe being in preschool?  I wish you luck this month, and know I'm thinking about ya!  Pam

Thanks.  I have had two m/c -- one at age 33 and one at 38.  I just turned 41 and have been trying for 3 years with no success.  I took the progesterone while pg, not during ttc. My dr. thinks that clomid gives me more follies which means an increase in natural progesterone.  So that's what I have done.  I am currently on my second month ttc natural again, thinking of trying a natutral progesterone cream or seeing if there are any over the counter supplements I can try.  I say if you want it, don't give up until the last door closes.  Since you're not there, what' s the harm in trying? Nothing but success!  Good luck.

I'm glad your feeling more positive about the house selling.  Things have an amazing way of working out, even if we don't see it at first.  I love that book "Who moved my cheese" as well!!!  If you liked that, another you might enjoy is "Fish Stories".  Kind of similar.  I am doing well...my 40th bday is this month, so a bit stressed that I'm not a mom yet, but things will work out.  We are in touch with an adoption agency, and I think we are going to get that started as well.  My job requires me to have a police check and social services background check as well, so we are part way there already!!  I still want to experience a pregnancy, but have made peace with it if it doesn't happen. What's important is being a mom!!  Take care girl, glad things are going well.  Amanda

Aaaaaaah...Thank you Lisa!  You know I'm really Loving you now right? ;o) How I hope that having positive energy will help me get that BFP. ;o) I'm currently checking out a new RE...I really prefer to be on the DHEA for a bit before attempting another IVF, but I'm going to see what he has to say about it. I'm just finishing up some meds & didn't want to mix the 2, so I won't be starting them till the end of the month. I'm really trying to concentrate on getting healthier while in this trans period. Otherwise...I just started again with the OPK monitor sticks today...CD7. As soon as I get that smiley & 3 bars...it is Party-Time!!! ;o) Hope you get that BFP...all the work we ladies have to do! ;o)

That's kind of what I was thinking. Funny thing was, I wasn't really *wanting* it for a few weeks because I was so exhausted. But now I'm feeling better...and I want it all the time. I remember when I was pg with my son, I was like a teenage boy...lol. I think DH may have been freaked out by my spotting a few weeks back after sex. We've only done it twice since then...but no spotting either time. Oh well...it'll work out, I'm sure. Thanks for the encouragement, though! :-)

Hon, I know you want another baby & i want one for you.  I love the stories about the successes in the forum but feel that the reality 'checks' need to be pointed out as well to give an even balance.  About me - we got pregnant  through IVF via donor eggs.  I have no shame talking about that - in fact it was the best decision we made regarding having a baby.  We tried IVF w/my own eggs but it was cancelled day before retrieval - follicles too small.  It worked out though even though I was really crushed by what happened.  I guess I counted too much on that working.  Don't get me wrong though - I don't want to advocate this route - it's a personal decision & I will give out info if asked.  Hope this helps & have a great day! - jen

Connor turns 2 next month, so I'm his preschool til he turns 3 : )  I actually can't wait for him to start, it will be a much needed and long overdue break for me.  By that time, I'll have another baby at home...so I guess it won't be much of a break.  I'm not complaining, by that time I'll know that my babymaking days are over and I can really start enjoying our little family. Today must have been bittersweet seeing your little girl start a new chapter in her life!  I'll be the Mom peeking in the windows at his school, til the dismissal bell rings.   I really do hope 2009 is your year!  I admire your will and determination...it will happen.  Besides, I'm the oldest on the forum pregnant, I need some company!!  Take Care, Pam

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for asking. It is coming along. I am waiting to get through this cycle so I can start meds on cd1. We will be looking for transfer very soon after that. I am cd17 no and o should be any day. I feel like I am still waiting for Christmas am, lol.  The drs office quoted $3500-$3700. I am keeping track of it visit to visit in my journal to see how it adds up.

I was lucky in the fact that my dr has cryo preservation at his facility. Not all do. If you are interested, call fertility clinics in your area and ask if they offer donor embryos. If not, they may know a dr nearby that does.

Wouldn't it be funny if this month - when you haven't really been trying - you turned up BFP? LOL. OMG - selling and buying homes has GOT to be one of the biggest life stressors EVER. And every time I've moved I've thought THIS IS THE LAST TIME! I'M STAYING HERE FOREVER! Ha ha. Anyway...hopefully the bean is fine! My first OB appt is today, so we should be able to see the heartbeat. I will be so relieved...I'm very anxious. I don't FEEL pregnant, other than being tired and the occasional weird pull or twinge in my belly. I'm 8 weeks today. Anyway...I'll let you know how the appt goes!

Hi Lisa! Yes...I had a lot more CM than normal, and it hasn't stopped! I have to wear a panty liner every day (sorry if TMI...lol). For the first few days after O, it was creamy...after about a week it turned like this weird substance. I can only describe it as "jelly-ish" tinged with brown. That lasted until about 14 DPO, then it turned more watery. It's still watery mixed with creamy. It *****...I don't remember this with my other kids! Of course, I think we block out all the icky stuff. It guarantees the human race will go on...lol. Let me know how things are going with you!

Thank you, Lisa, for responding to my post.  Definitely puts things in perspective for me.
Anyways, good luck with your move!  I moved last year - and then 2 more times within six months as we underwent renos - very stressful but ultimately worth every hassle!

You know, I have been a big girl my whole life...as an adult, I've been under 200 pounds one time. And I was always athletic..played volleyball, softball and threw shotput. I went to Arizona State and threw shotput there. I'm still very atheltic...my DH and I play softball on a co-ed team, I snowboard with my kids, and I ride my dirtbike as often as possible. I'm comfortable with my size, since I've always been this way...to other people, they would DIE if they weighed what I do. And that's their prerogative, I suppose. But as long as I'm healthy and active, I don't really think my size matters much. I AM a little nervous what it will do with this pregnancy, given my age and all. Guess we'll see! :-)

You deserve a big bear hug!  Sorry your having a down day.  But there is every reason to still believe you may be able to give Chloe a sibling.  And, if it doesn't work out, I have no doubt that with a momma like you, she will grow up to be a strong independent women.  I hope my post didn't come across as saying not to try for a sibling.  I was just trying to explain from the perspective of an only child.  I apologize if it didn't come across right.  Take care, and I just know all will work out for you!!

Thank you girlfriend...sounds like some good info...someone else was talking to me about it on medhelp. I'm going to try it...which brand did you try? I'm going to ask the other young lady who told me about which brands she uses too. I will shop Wholefoods for an organic one. I'll drop you a pm later. I'm on an outing in a few.

Cheers,

Just a quick note to say hi!  I just wanted to say that i found your post to be reassuring and encouraging because over the last couple months I have been taking all the vitamins you mentioned (except for dhea) ~ B complex, B12, B6, C, E and baby aspirin.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it made me feel like I made the right choices on vitamins to help my fertility.  I'm in the 2 ww now after over-responding on a clomid/follistim combo month, and intercourse only b/c my IUI got cancelled with 6 follies...  Thanks again!

Hey Lisa...

Thanks for the info on B6...remember when you mentioned it, I told you I already had it? At any rate, when you told me about it...I started taking it again. ;o) So...I've got a few things going now...just hoping it will really give us success in Feb. You are so right about "feeling" more in control...at least you know it's not a shot in the dark. I knew for sure & now will be able to time things even better. I've made an appt. with the gynie for 11th Dec, but am going to try to find another doc with an earlier appt. I really want to be seen this week. Stay in touch lady. Chat soon.

Old Bird my butt!!  Age is a number my dear, and so much of it is how you feel.  That being said, for us "mature moms to be" it can be tougher.  And yeah, I do think clomid may help.  I always thought it was just for women who don't ovulate on their own, however it also does a number of other things. Helps lengthen luteal phase, helps build progesterone (a big problem in us over 35/40ers).  It also helps the follicles mature, given us a better chance at a quality egg.  The side effects can be a challenge to deal with, but as long as you remember what's causing it, its really not too bad.  I really think you should talk to your OB. If she gives you flak about ttc at this stage, fine someone else...its really not her business!!  Hope this info helps my friend!!!
