Thanks for the note. I am in India now for holidays, will be back in Aden in a fortnight.

Since your problems are mainly functional (as opposed to structural lesions), did you take a psychologist's/ psychiatrist's advice? Or you plan to "suffer" like this silently;-)?

Thanks !

Didn't you take a psychiatric opinion on your headache?

Reply: Hi Jane,
These are crude sensations usually covered and not 'available' to all. But once the protective 'skin' (so to say) is gone the 'deeper feels' gets exposed. Feel assured as all doctors and the imaging studies have drawn a blank.

To get the protective 'skin' back, you have to take the 'neurotransmitter modifiers' like amytryptelene, and such other drugs. A psychiatrist will be able to help you, though you can't accept it. (Don't worry about it, you should be okay. I know there is some taboo associated with a visit to psychiatrist. But only you know how you are suffering.)

Come back to glorious happy life !

Best,

Thomas Antony

Hi Jane, You can safely take Amitryptylene. What is the dosage advised for you? It can vary from 25mg to 75 mg. How much do you weigh?
It is slow to act, meaning you have to wait for 3 weeks for effects. But some respond early. You will definitely loose that feeling of "all is gone, now what to do, no one there to help me".. :-) (No, I am not teasing you) And slowly you will find your colorful life coming back to you.
It is preferred in those people with sleeping problems. But it will not usually knock you to sleep. In case there is a hangover, I ask my patients to take tea or coffee.
Don't worry, it is going to be alright.

I hope you're feeling better today! If you ever need to rant, I'm here for you...although I might be away from my computer until Saturday since I'm visiting family for Thanksgiving. In any event, I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving, too, and feel better soon!!

I read your posts, but for some reason I wasn't able to post a response to any of them. It sounds like anxiety to me...and yes, stress can cause pressure sensations, especially the feeling of a tight chest, as well as headaches and increased heart rate (which will be heard in your ear if you have vasoconstriction occurring in your head--as is what happens when you're stressed). Hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, you have the freedom not to agree with your doctor's diagnosis. But I don't know how to convince you and coax you to take anti anxiety medication. I expect the headache and the stomach probs to disappear with that medication :-)

You will feel better.

Best,

TA

You doc won't refer you anywhere because of your history with anxiety issues. It ***** big time. But it's the reality of the situation. Can you not just walk into a hospital and pretend to pass out? Then explain those feelings to the nurses and get a full check up. Might be a bad but smart move.

Suffering from anxiety can be so freaky and unless you have dealt with it before then you cannot understand.  That's why it's so hard for our loved ones, friends and family to understand us unless they have suffered from it at one point in their lives.  What I have noticed is that, even if you have suffered from it and if you do get over it, you do actually forget exactly how if feels, therefore it's only those living through it at the same time of you that truely get what you feel.  You can only really find those people on this forum, perhaps some of them are in my town and I don't even know it!

This forum actually helps me get through those difficult hours in the day.

The book I read was "Peace from Nervous Suffering" and it made a lot of sense.  I do know how you feel though, as there are days that are great and then I relax and think ok I'm fine now and then BANG it comes back and I feel I'm back to where I started!  Thank goodness there are more good moments than bad!

Always had a big mouth. Always got me into trouble. But that was part of the fun for me. You are a good honest person. I just wish you could find that something to aim for in life. It is there. You just have to find it. Even a few hobbies. Anything to stop the mind from going over the edge. Always here. Think you know that by now.

Sorry to hear about your problems. There is no magic sollution. I thought I was going mad many a time. Broke down twice in my life. Hospital once for over a month. I think I knew I didn't like hospital and wanted to get out of the place. You have to try and find that something worth fighting for. Something in your life. There must be people even? Anything at all. That will give you the desire to go get better. It may be a slow process. But it will be worth the effort. When down we always feel much worse. We do feel sorry for ourselves. Have been there. But the one thing I always hated was when people said ' oh poor you '. That used to freak me out. It wasn't sympathy I was chasing. And I let them know straight out. If they didn't know what I was going through then just shut up about it.

I am sure with time and a lot of effort you can get better. Never easy I know. But at times we have to suffer a bit to let that pain become part of us. By that I mean we get so used to it that we don't notice it after a while. All I used to worry about. Today I find myself not even giving them a second thought. I just accepted them. Only go near my doc when I needs meds. Other than that I never see him. So try and keep your spirits high. Look around you. There is always others worse off than ourselves. I know it is hard to think that when we are down. But I think you are aware of what you have to do to beat this. Always here for you.

I have these issues too, especially at that time of the month, today for me too and I have had vision issues last few days. I think it has to do with the fluctuatin in horomones. What is your age, if you don't mind me asking?

Well now I hope they get you on the right meds for the anxiety:)
The tiredness really came on strong after the Brain bleed,. So I think that is the major reason. But I had a milder case of tiredness with the anxiety before the bleed. Guess it takes a lot of mental energy to be anxious all the time.
Take care and have a good day.

Just a quick note to say hi!

Anxiety is a nasty thing to deal with, I have been there too, and still am. Depression too can come it seems with anxiety.
Have they found any irregularities with your Brain scans?

I still get wicked headaches, neck pain, which I had before due to arthritis, but it's worse now. I have a bit of a ballance problem now and then. But being so darn exhuasted is a mystery. Company for an hour one day puts me in bed most of the next day, same with shopping for a couple of hours.

Anything like that with you?
And irritable!!!!!  I don't recognize myself at times. I was never like that before the brain bleed.

You hang in there.
Best wishes from over the seas to you.
