I'm a 4 year bc survivor as well.  Love your nicknames!  I'm not a fan of all the "don't"s associated with lymphedema.  I don't pay much attention to those.  If I did, I would be so afraid of doing anything.  I lift weights and use the sauna on occasssion.  I love a hot tub.  I wear a sleeve a lot for mild/moderate lymphedema.  I wear them in color, too!  I get blood drawn in that arm when I need to...  my opinion is live your life mindful of what might happen and try to head it off with lymphatic massage.  It shouldn't be something to keep you from life, just be mindful of what could happen.

Just a quick note to say hi!  Talking about genealogy, I almost fell off my chair 19 years ago when I found a death record for the 4th g.g.m. in Scotland.  She died of breast cancer at the same age as I was when diagnosed - 47, in fact I'd just been diagnosed and felt she didn't have a chance in 1852.  I so surprised to see cause of death - breast cancer with apparent mets.  Her husband died 2 years later from exhaustion.  But you're right about the cause of death not being listed.  Saskatchewn will not list the cause of death on death certificate.  At least the Irish death certicates list cause of death.  I see you're from Colorado - my husband was born and raised in Co.

It was actually my son's dog but she was like a member of the family. I've never had a dog but I sure liked her. I peeked at your profile. I see you're in Colorado. We lived in the Denver area (Golden, Broomfield and Lakewood) for about 4 years before my husband got a job here back in '78. Denver was fine (enjoyed Golden the most and of course, Casa Bonita) but we sure love the NW. Hope you have a good time in Washington. Maybe the Olympic Peninsula? Whether you see any unusual birds is not as important as just seeing something different. We visited Texas and I got to see some real odd ones there. Be safe.  irene

Have fun up there on your trip. Really, the best time to see odd varieties of birds is in the Fall during migration or after a big storm when they're blown off track. One year we got a Masked Booby into the center (here in Portland). Talk about off track and special!

Thanks for your comment to my journal entry.  I LOVE your idea!  I take it I can buy these Nexcare bandages at a local Walgreens?  I told my nurse about the bead and glue gun thing and they were NOT amused!  No sense of humor there, so maybe the colorful bandage thing would be acceptable.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the congratulations!  I figure two more years, and I'll no longer be a statistic.  It's been a long road in some ways, but a short one in others.  At any rate, I'm happy to have made it this far.  Hubby and I are going out to dinner and a play tomorrow night as our way of celebrating together quietly.  I'm doing well on Aromasin so far, other than the bone pain.  I fly back to Houston next week to see my doctor, and I'm hoping we can work something out with it.  Anyway, thanks for the kind words!

Thank You. I love all the nicknames your husband has given you. What a SURVIVOR you are!! Thank You for writing to me. I am a mix of emotions right now. What scares me is people say they are soo tired, Im young, I am a competitive athlete, its a big part of WHO i am, im scared of losing that...I was going to ask about exercise while going through chemo. thank you have a wonderfully blessed day!

I haven't meant to ignore you...things have been pretty fast paced and chaotic getting here and especially now that I'm here. I love the doctor...agressive with cancer treatment but not with patients.  He really has a sense of humor. I've decided on Etoposide, oral chemo, for my first round and willl start on Sunday next. Every day for three weeks and then off one week.  Hope it works. Keep in touch, Kathy...I'm counting on it. I feel so displaced.

Hi Kathy glad you are doing well, It is nerve wracking going for tests and the waiting for results but you will be fine . I am due to go for a ca125 thats  the only test I have , they don,t do scans over here for monitoring purposes . Our weather is still very erratic lol !!!  I don,t think I could call it summer over here because its sunny one day and rains the next .You were asking what case I had won, well  I won my case against the health authority about delay for surgery , it  is written in my journal if you have time to look. God luck with your tests Kathy and take care .

Best wishes Angie

Thank you for thinking about me! It is hard to imagine Red Skelton saying anything that was not funny. He was born not too far from where I live (either born there or lived there), in Vinncennes, IN. Which is about 30 miles from here and on the way there you drive over the Red Skelton bridge. (don't ask what river it goes over because when I started to tell you my mind just went blank)
I hope that everything is going good for you too.
  Love Chris

Watching Red Wings try to win Stanley Cup with my guys.  Relieved for you, no recurrence!!!!!!  Appreciate your comments re: spirituality v. religious dogma.  I'm still conflicted, my dad became a fanatic on his death bed (age 47 colon cancer, 1980)

Just a quick note to say hi!  Yes, I am doing a little planting. Not much this year as I am not very energetic.  I just put in a few tomato and pepper plants and some flowers.  I got a new fucshia plant for my front porch.  When we lived in Coloado I loved the Columbine best of all.  Bee Balm grew great there, too.  Our yard here is small and has too much shade to grow much.  Take care, Marie

I woke up okay but feeling shaky.  Like small tremors or whatever.  A little weak but  nothing major.  I'm doing wash and will go out later for lottery tickets if I can.  I took a xanax to see if it would calm down the shakes.  Will let you know if I have any changes.  Thanks so much for writing.  You have no idea how much you are helping me out!  Love Michele

Thank you for everything!  They told me what to get and yes I did get Imodium and Colace.  Stool softener the works!  I'm ready for whatever I have to do.  I hope I don't feel too bad tomorrow but if I'm tired and heavy I will just lay around.  Today I had energy but I see I'm slowing down now.  So I'll sit outside and kind of relax.  I have pains like i have to go but nothing so far.  You are wonderful I appreciate everything you've done for me.  Will stay in touch.  Love Michele
