You mentioned surgical menopause.... what kind of surgery are you getting??? A hysterectomy? removal of both ovaries?
Laparoscopic? or Laparotomy? I am getting a laparoscopic right ovary and tumor removal, a left ovarian cystectomy, and an appendectomy because they found a small calculi in my appendix. What I didnt know about laparoscopic procedures is that they fill up your entire pelvic area with gas so your organs are floating around so the doc can see better and move his instruments around better. So I heard the first 2 days are painful becuz the gas is dissapating from your body.. LOVELY....
I'll be thinking of you.... and me, too!!! Lisa
You're in my thoughts today.
Joelle, I just saw your picture for the first time, and wanted to tell you I think you're a beautiful woman!
Thank you for your friendship!
Just a quick note to say hi! Joelle I too am having surgery on 5-1. My doctor says my several tumors look like dermoids, but never can be sure until they are removed. I am going to have the right ovary removed along with the several tumors and the complex cyst within the ovary. My doc is going to check the other ovary because a cyst showed there too, just to see if it is simple or complex. My prayers are with you.... I know It is best to have the surgery, but I grow increasingly anxious every day.... keep me posted
Thanks for the info. I will see you there. I hope you have some good news?
Just a quick note to say hi! I really think the women on the Ovarian Cancer site were extremely MEAN today. Check out the PCOS forum (poly cystic ovarian symdrome). They may be able to relate to your symptoms. Good luck!
Just a quick note to say hi!
Hi painterchick... I like your name. I have had a few thoughts about people not wanting "unrelated posts" to appear here.
I am glad to say MedHelp is addressing this issue, and is starting a new forum for "Ovarian Cysts" 04/24. I will be having a bunch of staples removed (my hysterectomy for cyst on my ovary was a little over two weeks ago).
You are welcome to try that forum, I am (although I don't have any ovaries anymore either). I am a nice person, determined to find a place where my experiences will help people, and I am "on topic". I can't speak about OVCA, because I don't think I have it (another thing I find out tomorrow).
Live & let live, hope you go to ovarian cysts and join up, but if you would like a friend, my name is Donna.
