I'm in Jacksonville, FL also and having complications from cataract surgery. WILL NOT have 2nd eye done until repaired. Please email me at dee.***@**** so I can discuss further with you... thanks. Dee
Thank you for your feedback..so I assume you did not have a capsule rupture?
Which 3 -piece IOl would you recommend? I assume you have done extensive research...
Why would the silicone lens not work?
I was reading through your posts and was curious to know what your experience was with the Synchrony lens..Its a accomodating lens right?
I am 35 now so our experiences might be similar..Of course, I have a polar posterior cataract which might make it difficult to select anything else other than a monofocal..dont know yet
Any information you can provide will be great.
I have been thinking about how you are getting on with the Synchrony IOLs. The last I heard was that ypu were having some issues. We spoke about a year ago on the phone, when I called you from the UK. How are you?
Hi, finally convinced my 2nd doctor that something wasn't right with the Restor lens. After extensive tests, and OCT scans and visit to the retinal specialist, it was removed 2 yrs later. I know have an Alcon monofocal lens with a tension rings and 2 stitches, ( 1 stitch was removed post-op 3 wks., the other is permanent. The 2nd dr. found missing zonule fibres, so the Restor lens, was not only 1/2 diopter off, it was also not secure, (loose). I would still love to know what a "cutter" procedure is, my doctor is not good as explaining things. Do you know what this procedure is? Medhelp has not responded.
I am looking forward to your reply and hope your eyes are all well now and you are enjoying your new life after surgery( you said that you may enter a med school after the operation in your past posts. i hope your dream come true! You would definitely become a good doctor for you are a very nice person.)
I am still trying to dig out more information about the surgery or IOL of young man with cataract. But i could not find out too much useful information and i could not know what the visual effect would be after the op fot i am a one-eye cataract patient. It is a nightmare to get this disease... When i sleep, i always dream that i become healthy as before again but i seems to be ridiculous...
However, it is very fortunate to know other similar patients here..the mutual support is helpful
I send a message to you on Jun 18. I will be very very appreciated if i could get your reply. For my doctor suggest me to do a op in one year. Therefore, i am quite worried about the choice of IOL.
Re. Synchrony IOL and others:
I am a high myope and have a cataract in one eye.
I have researched every lens on the market and fully understand your concerns.
I need surgery, and choosing an IOL and surgeon is very difficult.
It's far easier to discuss these things on the phone, so feel free to call me on 0039 0187 479047 (Central European Time).
