Hi from mid-winter Buenos Aires.
This is Susan400. I hope your remember me. Did you see my good news post? I am finally looking like I'm SVR!! I tried back in Nov 2017 through Feb 2018 for 12 wks with Vosevi. I just got my 12 wks post treatment labs a few weeks ago and I am undetected off meds! After 13 treatments and 20 yrs of fighting it back. I am feeling so blessed and thankful to God and my other red shoes gals on Medhelp!
Just a quick note to say hi!
Just touching base once again and thinking of my fellow friends. Hope u r well and finally free of this terrible burden with a new found life.
I see you have also been trying to help out also
Thanks to you for saying that. Seems like since Howie is gone not a lot of us old timers left to try to pick up where he left us so I try my best
Thank you. 1-1 was a really bad day, but other than that, I have been keeping busy and feel like I am progressing normally through my grief. Thanks for your note.
Hi & thank you Sandi~
Many blessings~ Randy
(Notes not working properly. Hope this isn't duplicated again.)
It's too hot right now in Bs As so I will stay in NYC for a while longer. Plus I am really swinging with dance classes. Up to three a week. This is my last chance to do something good with dance, and it coincides with the HCV Tx, so I will go with the flow. Glad that you are all well.
Hi, Sandi. I have two days of meds left! Everything okay. Don't know if I'm cured, but feeling good. How are you? Say hello to Liz for me. Hugs. Mike.
I'm really glad to hear you're SVR24, too. I developed gingivitis during treatment and had to get 2 crowns afterwards, but other than that, I'm feeling great. I haven't been reading the posts on the HepC forum much lately. Good to hear from you!
Thank you for your kind words. His first name is Clement. Prayers are very much appreciated.
Thank you for everything! I answered your post . Thanks!
Just a quick note to say hi! Hi, I sent you a post--am new, so just wanted some advice about finding the right doctor. Thanks!
So funny I was thinking about you today. Do you have an email address that I could write you. My last month was very rough, and my prognosis is a bit complicated that I don't want to put on this site.
Hey I have been wondering how your appointment went the other day?
:) I have been praying for you at different times. I want to know your results tomorrow. How far in the treatment did you have to lower your doses? I don't want to have to do that but if my platelets get under 30 he will have to. Did your hair fall out during the treatment or after?
Please let me know what they say. I have never had any problems with hair loss (yet) or any rashes. I have an appointment to get an MRI of the liver and spleen this Friday. Sure hope that it is positive. Get back to me when you can.
Hey Sandi, Sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner. Went to my appointment yesterday...the virus is undetected. My RBC WBC and hemoglobin are low but that is expected with the treatment. That is great news. He is watching my platelets as they are down to 48 so I will be getting blood work done every few weeks till end. If my platelets drop under 30 than he will adjust my medication.
The one negative concern is my liver enzyme levels have been consistently high and he does not know why. He said that it could be some other liver disease and I am praying that is not the case. I will be having a MRI of the liver and spleen in the next week. After treatment he would like to do a liver biopsy. So that is where I am at for now. How are you.
Hi again Sandi,
My cable company discontinued my primary home email in the middle of treatment and I lost many of my contacts. I still have an email account at ***@****.
My training webinars will be recorded and online but only the people in my work group can access them. First training is how to make layered PDFs from adobe illustrator maps. The scientists I work with are interested in these "interactive" maps. Second training will be all about creating hyperlinks in InDesign. I still have to research that topic a lot more, but my layered PDFs webinar is almost ready for "prime time."
The most exciting thing is the arrival of my daughter and granddaughters from Japan today. They'll be here a whole month.
I hope you're feeling a lot better soon. Take care!
Glad to hear you are recovering from the effects of treatment. And same for me. Now 3 weeks post EOT, I am glad to be rid of the persistent dry cough, the dizziness, the insomnia, and the riba rage, anxiety, and bouts of depression. Whew, what a ride that was! My energy is almost back to normal, and I'm feeling much more like my usual calm and serene self. Just in time for summer family visits, and a couple InDesign and illustrator training webinars I'm presenting in June and July. Busy as heck! Hope all is well for you, and I hope to hear good news for both of us when we get our next viral load tests.
I called my doctor but they did not get back to me. I never seem to have a problem with the interferon shots but I think the ribivarin and solvadi just wipes me out. So far I have not had any rashes, but a cough that will not go away. I went to my other doctor and my lungs are clear so I think it is the treatment and allergies. June 2nd I go in for my half way point. I hope and pray that it all works out for good for you. I will check in with you from time to time. You have been a big help with you answers. I saw one of your post where your meds had to get adjusted because of your blood work being so low. Anyway hope you get this, still cannot figure out how to use this web page. Now facebook is a different story for me:)
How are you feeling that your treatment is over. Have you gotten any results? I am starting my 5th week. Very exhausted and have to force myself to eat...my RBC, WBC and hemoglobin keep dropping and platelets are low. Lucky you have finished the treatment. Some days I don't have the energy to take any more of those pills but....Let me know how you are doing if you get a minute.
Glad to hear you're still undetected! Yay!!!!
20 days left for me. My doc won't check my viral load until week 12. I sure hope yours is still UND and you're feeling better.
I'm doing ok, Sandi. Glad to hear you're doing better. I have labs on April 3rd, too.
Hi neighbor! Sounds like treatments going good! Do you have any fatigue? You should be done by summer, just in time to get into your bikini! Lol!!! It's been summer all year here in Southern Ca though hasn't it! Hoping for SVR for you Sandi. Kitty
6 weeks done, 6 weeks to go!
Hi Sandi, no I haven't gotten riba rash yet. I'm really sorry to hear that you did. A month before I started treatment, I had seen my dermatologist for a breakout of nummular eczema. He recommended a cream called CeraVe. It's available at Walmart and Target. Expensive but worth every penny. So, I had been moisturizing like crazy before starting treatment. I hope you get rid of your rash soon, it must be miserable. Thanks for the tip about low blood sugar. I've eaten very few carbs today, and have had no palpitations, so I really think you're onto something there. Let me know how it's going with the rash, ok?
I hope you are doing well. I am still waiting for my drugs. Don't know what the hold up is. How long did it take you to get yours? Love your photo!
So glad you only have to do 12 weeks! My EOT date is May 2. Seriously, right behind you!
Best of luck to both of us!
I'm glad to hear you're doing OK so far. Sorry that you have to do the interferon, but once you attain SVR and cure, any misery you go thru will have been worth it, right? I have genotype 2, so it's only sovaldi+riba for me for 12 weeks. Today is day 5, so I'm right behind you. So far so good, just some reflux and dizziness. How long is your treatment, 12 or 24 wks?
Best of luck to you. Hope the treatment isn't too brutal for you. I'll keep you in my thoughts and hope the best for both of us!
