You deserve a big bear hug!
Hope you are doing ok. I know about having lots of questions. Hope and pray you get them all answered. Prayers to you. Please keep in touch!
Just a quick note to say hi!
Thank you for your info....really really appreciate it. Hope all is well with you now.
Hi thanks for note and glad to hear you received mine.I believe the lens was monofocal...Good luck to you also
caren123.... Not sure if I am doing this right, don't know a great deal about computers, but in answer to your question, the lens I had implanted was Bausch & Lomb ModelL161AO and the power was +17.00...Hope you receive this email....thank you HenHal
Oh yes Caren, I did post to you by mistake as I though I received a note from
you. If you are interested I just came from my Opthamologist today and
my options are: 1. Learn to live with it and hope it improves, 2. Increase
the strength of the pilocarpine from 0.5% to 2%, 3. pupilplasty to
permanetly reduce the size of my pupil, and last but definatley
not least 4. Lens exchange
Part 2. Do I wear glasses? I don't have that option, it was taken away from me. I now MUST wear contact to see, special weighted ones that MUST sit just right for the correction.I am now on my third set. My OT, is trying anything, and everything so I don't also have to carry with me at all times, two sets of reading glasses, which I now have to do. I wore 1.25 reading glasses, sometimes if the print was real small, before the "INSTALLATION" of the lol's.I had small halos at night before, NOW, I have Starburst that when driving I have to look away from at times.Like looking at the sun.As Old Navy said, implants should cost $5000.00 so the Doctors don't have to UP SELL to make a living.
I have HD-500 lens. I have been to 3 diffrent Doctors in 6 months, other than the installing doctor. I still can't see with contacts, my eyes feel swollen all the time, I can't work, had YAK in both eyes, I'm sick, sick, sick, sick of this ****.Did you find help?Leagal or Medical?
When you're on the Expert forum scroll about half-way down the page till you see "Related Communities" in the right column. Then click "Eye Care" just below. That will take you to the Community Eye Care forum. I think that Dr. Oyakawa will be answering questions tomorrow.
Thanks. Good luck with whatever you decide. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, trust me.
Hi, yes. If you read my posts, "Crystalens Result" and "Will YAG Capsulotomy after Crystalens Help?", you will know every detail. I think that I have had a fabulous result, but I won't know for sure until October. If you read the posts, you'll understand why.
The KEY thing with Crystalens is to find a great surgeon who is listed on the Crystalens website as a Center of Excellence.
If you live in NY near Philadelphia, I would go to Wills Eye Hospital, one of the top rated in the world and locate a surgeon highly experienced with explants, should you go this route. If you havn't had both eyes done perhaps part of the problem is the discrepency between the natural eye and the IOL Crystalens eye with regard to color, size of objects etc. Premium lenses take longer to adapt to and are less forgiving when there is a measurement error. I do feel your distress, but an explant can be accomplished safely when done by a highly skilled surgeon. It is not without risks and is more complex than the original surgery. Good luck.
