You have got a smart wife. I imagine she sees a lot of the devestation caused by the meds, not the disease. Still, you have to look at both sides. It is good to hear from you
SnowWav - I thought I recognized your screenname. One thing nice about this new set up is that we can go back and look at your posts from 2007 and before. I remember you. You were so healthy and did so many athletic things during tx it was a shock when you relapsed. I hang around the forum, especially looking for Telaprevir and Boceprevir information.
Perhaps we will treat together again.
I did notice that alcohol makes you fat after you hit about 50. Fat and cool is not what I'm after.
Read your post and tend to agree with your wife. If you can stop ASSISTING the virus in damaging your liver, you may be able to go on indefinitely. I had HCV for 38 yrs. but wrecked my liver with an NSAID (naproxen). I kept the virus down all those years and then accidentally I started helping it kill my liver. When I treated (had to, too much damage to ignore) I had a very low VL and cleared the virus immediately. I suppose there are folks who get killed by the virus but I suspect that if you don't help it, it will just muddle along forever. Here's to clean living and the end of the weekend warrior. We had to grow up someday, after all.
