14 Moves to Beat Back Pain

Cardio: Walking

Cardio: Walking

It’s tough to find a much simpler, more low-impact exercise than walking. Just 30 minutes of brisk walking three times a week can help with chronic back pain issues and may help prevent future back pain episodes. While you can walk indoors or out, on a treadmill, sidewalk, track or nature trail, all you really need is a comfortable pair of walking shoes. Try to walk at a brisk pace that gets your heart pumping, but still allows you to carry on a conversation. Aim for at least 30 minutes three times a week at first, then increase to 30 minutes daily, working up to 60 minutes a day.
