took car to shop and drove the mechanic around. Car did not make the bad sound. Drove home. It made the bad sound. Am thinking of buying a new car.

Oh no... this has been going on for a while now. specialmom's bad sounds cost a lot of money. I hope they find whatever is causing the sound in yours before same happens to you. But then a new car doesn't sound bad either... :-)

My husband and I own an automotive repair shop and I promise you, that happens all the time. Car knows it's going to dr so the symptoms stop...lol...murphy's law...

Driving close to a building or a divider on the road helps the noise coming from your vehicle to bounce back to your ears especially when the windows are down. And if it is the kind of noise that comes from wheels then it comes and goes like stone in tire

Well, you're lucky. I took my car into the shop for an oil change and the sounds indicated I needed to pay a small fortune to get rid of it.

As soon as the mechanic left the car, it made the bad sound again. It's an awful rattle. I need to take it over there on a cold day when the car is also cold.

go to a smaller hospital and hope for the best... Still not sure if we'll end up coming or not, but hope it's until it warms up a little bit. Praying she has a turn for the better, but at 94 yrs old, anything can happen...

Sarah - at 94, it's hard to say what will happen. She ended up in Sheldon. They had snow all day and the wind was supposed to come up towards evening. I have no reason to believe it didn't.

How is she doing today? Yes the winds did come up last night. Today we dug out, waiting on another storm mid week and now there is another one moving in for the weekend!! It is all that heavy crap too!
