first family visit with my husband at inpatient rehab. I'll get to talk with him& his counselor. I don't even know what to expect.... very nervous & uncertain. 08/13 - 2

Husband is in a detox facility. Thank goodness. Found out so many "secrets" over the past 48 hours that I'm so happy he's detoxing & gonna get some aftercare of course! 07/13 - 2

clean_in_ks This is GREAT news, girl~  I'm glad you set a good and clear boundary...it's hard to do...but you are a courageous, loving woman for doing so.  There are MANY myths of addiction...one is that treatment won't work if the patient doesn't "want" to be there...bull hockey.  Read this link on the hbo addiction site:  http://www.hbo.com/addiction/understanding_addiction/16_myths_of_addiction.html  Watch the 2nd little video on the r.h. side of this article to hear what this addiction expert has to share.  It will encourage you....and confirm you did the right thing.  No guarantees on what you hubby will do....but the boundary you set is RIGHT ON!  Proud of you~

Jbean77 Thanks... it is hard to see the positives when people say he will never embrace help by giving him an ultimatum. fortunately he can see that he has something to work hard at getting sober for. I'll check out the video soon
