About Me: Female, 34, Schenectady, NY, member since Dec 2014
Hello there, I am a 27 yr old female with 3 children. I recently had almost a full hysterectomy, taking every thing except 1 ovary (November 4, 2014). On December 12th, 2014 i developed a slight sore throat with a mucus like post nasal drip slime in the back of my throa
[More]t and eye infection that when I bent over I had severe pressure behind that eye, emergency room doc thought automatically "pink eye" well after 2 days of the antibiotic ointment my eye got progressively worse so I sought out an ophthalmologist and he was unsure I guess but gave me an antibiotic drops instead and told me to return in 4 days. Later that day I started having a horrible sore throat and stiff neck on one side accompanied by a headache. Today I woke up with the worst sore throat I could have ever imagined. (had tonsils removed from chronic strep at age 19) Along with the sore throat I have swollen glands on both sides under jaw line, quarter size lumps about 1 inch from shoulder on both sides of my neck and a thick, sticky, brownish substance ( not mucus, this is something I have never seen before) in the back of my throat. I removed some of it with a clean q-tip gently but as I was removing the q-tip it felt almost as if I was pulling a layer of skin off of the back of my throat. It didnt bleed, like i said I was completely gentle. My question is what do you think COULD be going on? (I know you might say see a doctor but it seems the doctors out here are always dismissive.) Im at loss of what to do and am sooooo tired of being sick and feeling like this. Please tell me anything you think could be going on and what I can do to improve how I feel.
ONLY PAST HISTORY:
tubular renal acidosis (kidney disease)
very recent hysterectomy
multiple broken bones
3 natural child births
