About Me: Female, 46, Albuquerque, NM, member since Oct 2009
In 2009, I made a dramatic change to my lifestyle. Things just weren't right. I wasn't healthy. Everything felt broken. Everything hurt. I couldn't sleep. I was feeling crazy and losing weight drastically. Based on my interests, I was looking in all the wrong places foc
[More]using on the symptoms like depression, anxiety, insomnia, hormonal imbalances. It wasn't until 2011 that I was finally diagnosed with Graves Disease. However, probably from the wear on my body, in 2012 they found a tumor in my bladder. So I had to have that surgery taken care of ASAP. I ended up losing my job. I ran out of FMLA and with 2 medical disorders stacked, it just took it's toll. It took another years before I could treat my thyroid with RAI. I still haven't found steady employment. A history of calling in sick all the time didn't leave any opportunities open for the future.
And here we are today it's 2015. I can't believe how long I was living just absolutely miserable. An entire year was lost just trying to get my body stablized and used to not being revved up and to use the synthetic thyroxine. Thank God I forgot my synthroid at home during Thanksgiving weekend in 2014. I took one of my dads that was a slightly higher dose and WHAM! Just like that, by the afternoon I noticed immediately that I felt amazing, for the first time in a decade! I immediately made my doctor write me a new prescription.
So much time wasted. So many opportunities lost. Still sort of wandering in limbo waiting for my life to begin. I have to say though, that I've never felt better. I don't even exercise anymore (which I should and would love to get back into it!) I'm just happy to be normal, feel normal, think NORMAL!

Try pinching your shoulder muscle with you..."
