Sorry all these notes are backwards. I just realized it sorry. :) I also have info on how the living donor transplants are done and is involved. If u want to u can give me your e-mail and I can send them to u. I got all this like I said when I was researching for info on my mom's condition.

If u do not have any hospitals in your area that do live donor transplants, mand if u have the good medical coverage, there is a great hospital in Detroit Michigan called 'Henry Ford Hospital'. They have the best live donor transplant success rate in the country besides the Mayo Clinic. This success rate also counts the people who survive the surgery. At last glance it was like 80% or so. Unfortunately, my mom died on Oct 2nd while waiting for a transplant that her med coverage wouldn't cover a live donor transplant. I hope now I might be able to hjelp u out. Not many people now about a living donor transplant. I didn't intil I read stuff on the UNOS site. I wish u luck.

They only allow 800 characters anyway............. If u have someone like mom/sister or other family that could match u and they can donate a piece of your liver. As long they are healthly, don't smoke, and they hjave to be either same size as you or bigger and a few more thing. If u use somebody from your immediate family, they have the blood type as u, or they have real close to your blood type. When u get a llive donor transplant, the odds that u might reject the liver, gets cut in half if not more. I do not know if u knew u had this option or not. But if someone in your family would donate a piece of their liver, u may have a 2nd chance at life.
