Just a quick note to say hi!
Just saw your post from 2007. Probably by now you have some idea but just in case...there can be paroxysmal atrial fibrillation...vagal variety which primarily occurs at night or after heavy meals. Generally beta blockers, because they decrease your heart rate, are contraindicated in vagal atrial fib. Of interest too, is frequently vagal atrial fibbers have "normal hearts" with possibly the concentric ventricular hypertrophy...maybe because of the elevated blood pressure or maybe because of the atrial fib. See an EP (electro physiologist...not just the standard cardiologist). Also more info at www.afibbers.com. I have concentric LV hypertrophy from the AF also.
