In March 2009 I went into the hospital to have my colon removed. When they went inside me to do the surgery they found out that I had an advanced stage of ovarian cancer. So they removed my colon and all of my female reproductive organs. I then went through chemo for 6 months. The cancer is in remission but, because it was found in such an advance stage I am told it will come back. They left my rectum. They found cancer on it so they figured that, after chemo they would do a defacting proctogram test again to see if the cancer on the rectum was the reason I failed the first dp test. If I pass this one, they will hook my colon up to my rectum. If not, they want me to have a j pouch but I refuse to get one. Get a blood test called a CA125 SOON!
I saw your posts about your pending colon surgery in 2007 and was wondering how it all turned out?? I was diagnosed with the same and are just beginning to search and inquire about all the potential things involved... Any input you have would be greatly appreciated!
