I've been dealing with severe chronic pain when I herniated three discs in my neck while playing with my children. One of the discs was moderatly pressing against my spinal cord for 6 months before I had a single fusion surgery. I now have permanent spinal cord damage
[More] in my neck along with two herniated discs. I'm very limited to my activities and it's not easy to deal with. I use to run 36 miles a week; along with swimming and biking. I enjoyed racing in 5-10k's along with triathlons. Exercise was my passion. I also enjoy quilting and spending time with my children. I feel very blessed to have the support online to help me deal this severe chronic pain.
Ever since my spinal fusion, I've been left with severe chronic pain. I'm struggling everyday with this unbearable pain. I've gone through so many spinal injections, PT twice, trigger point injections, ice, heat, message therapy, tens unit, many types of medications, ect.. to help ease this pain. Most of the procedures have increased the pain to off the charts unbearable. I'm currently on the search for a compentent surgeon and I'm still searching for a way to decrease the pain symptoms. I'm now unable to do most things that involve physical activity as they increase the pain. I'm very lucky to have the most understanding husband who stands by my side every step of the way unlike any other memebers of my family.

I didn't stay on fentanyl very long(about 6-8 months). It was one of the most toxic meds I've ever taken and it didn't help..."
I don't "know" you, but I just read about your cat. My goodness, I'm SO sorry for your loss. Our fur babies are our kids...it's just so painful to lose them, in ANY way, but especially tragically and unexpectedly. You're in my thoughts.
