Hi Carla (I feel so weird writing that vs Stoney!!!!). Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that it was 'worried878' who got me onto the thinking of 'subox is now our DOC'. They have really opened my eyes re: some subox isses. Just in case you were wondering who told me. How's the subox going for ya? Any change/update? Hope all is well and please check-in whenever you're bored!!
Stoney, I can't take credit for the idea of 'viewing subox as a DOC' ... a fellow medhelp user wrote that to me in a message. I had to re-read that line about 6-7 times before it finally sunk in. But I can't tell you how much this person has helped me lately - they have totally changed my outlook on subox. And PLEASE dont get hard on yourself for not being able to get off of 0.5mg - it's not easy Stoney. Getting discouraged and negative will only make it that much easier to lose your/our focus. We're going to do this Stoney... we will. It won't be easy, but WE WILL WIN in the end. And like you said, thats when we'll finally have our old 'soul'/self again... I honestly can't wait for that.
Hey stoney, I've been able to get down to 2mg/day (I've been on this amt for 4 days now)! But I can tell you that my mindset/outlook re: subox has changed A LOT lately. I'm now starting to think that I NEED to get off this drug ASAP. The longer I stay on it, the harder its going to be for me to get off in the future. As an 'addict', I have to stop thinking about 'right now' and actually start planning for the future. As 1 phenomenal medhelp friend told me, I need to look at subox as if it were my DOC. Then make a plan to get off and stick to it.
