MS since 1985
Recently lost my service/assistance dog in July, 2012.
[More] Lumbar issues with pain.
Main sx - ataxia, fatigue, blurry vision, some mood issues particularly when stressed. Threshold for stress changes. Particularly allergic to prejudice! Gets my temper to flare.
Also, have lumbar and slight thoracic stenosis, with some pesky arthritis. But I generally have an upbeat outlook in spite of this especially when in the company of good friends.
"It can also be an indication of electrolyte imbalance. Ongoing flu. Sinus problems. Or in my case - another quirk associated or not with MS that no neurologist on the planet could figure out even if they tried.
I have had my fill..."
"Don't stay undx'd too long with the same doc. I did this. Switch docs. If a doc is jerking you around - switch - I learned this the hard way. I think they do it to women more often and I think that includes women docs doing the jerki..."
I didn't pursue it because of the HUGE expense up front (we exist on social security) but surely see one in my future for balance, foot drop and anxiety problems. Knowing my income limits, of course, neuro has not discussed it. He's reluctant to order the Bioness foot drop helper, due to my insurance not covering it.
Keep me posted if you do pursue this idea!
