Hey there..The month I had leftover follicles was actually one of my best months! I was so mad at first, but then I thought heck, I can actually take a break this month after two long years of being so careful what I ate, drank, peeing on ovulation sticks... So, that month was actually a nice breather. I do not think it necessarily affects your periods...but I always started my periods a few days early with each unsuccessful IUI. The nurse practitioner said it is sort of like your body saying ''OK, it did not work this time so let's go ahead and get going again"
I am not sure about your one day period. The IUI meds should have been out of your system by that time. Do you start taking them on Day 3? Did you let your Dr. know about your short period?
