Has anyone had a Qeeg on their child for ADD/ADHD

I saw this on a psychiatrist website and wondered if anyone heard of it. I mentioned it my pediatrician and he said it was controversial.  Any of you out there had it or know of it...

An EEG  can help you so you know that there is seizures going on and what side of the brain the waves are not normal on. People who have Seizures have a hard time learning and also do things they don't know they are doing and can't help they do these things.
Seizures are not add or adhd and people are misdiagnosed with having add and adhd because people don't know enough about seizures and what they do to a person brain and how they act,so it is easy for Doctors along with Teachers and even Parents to think it is always add or adhd. With out doing the work and the child suffers because of it.Because a lot of the drugs they use for add and adhd and even bipolar  can cause Seizures.

hope this helps .

What I have read about these EEGs is that they can identify waves of brain activity that are other than normal but they do not specify what is causing the brain activity.  The problem with ADHD is that other disorders cause similar brain patterns.  This is the same problem sith the Quotient ADHD test that has been advertised.  More about that is here: http://primarilyinattentiveadd.com.

Good Luck!  Tess
