emotional 5 year old

hie,my son is turning 6 in November,my worry is that he is so emotional.He plays with others so well the problems comes when someone disagrees with his views or refuses to give him back his toy or anything that belongs to him.Iam worried because if he continues with this crying he will be bullied.Please assist is this normal.I have taught him to share his toys with others and he expects others to do the same.I f only he could stand his groung,that is my only wish.Is is about age or what,reallly worried.Please assist.

I never went for this "time out" thing. In fact I never punished. I simply did not allow them to misbehave. If they were doing something undesirable, I stopped them from doing it. It takes more work than yelling or punishing, but is more effective.

It's normal-he's an only child right? Don't worry my daughter went and goes through it though now she is 6 and a half so not the same way. He is just trying to show ownership and independence. Just keep reinforcing his sharing and give him time outs or take the toy away if he refuses to share.
