Hi Lisa i think there is always a answer to everything, a lot of the problems with behaviour is to do with allergies, or sensitive, intolerant to certain foods. People associate e numbers with adhd yes they don't help but saying that they can make normal kids play up, but other foods can play a big factors as she ever been tested for allergies, intolerances, etc. My 17mth old is behaving hyper more than most 17mth olds but she has severe reflux which is being aggrivated by something else allergy wise her blood test for total ige came back very high so she is going to have more tests. The same is happening to my 6yr old she as always been very hyper, fidgets, she is also very behind at school, and i also think it is linked she also as stomach cramps on and off she is going to see a gastro on thurs to see about 2 hernias, but they are only small so i don't know if that can be causing the problem but i do think she as other factors going on, i am going to question the gastro when i see him. But you should see what allergies can cause your body to do, i have done research on this and rheumotoid arthritis, adhd, autism, and a lot of other illnesses are linked to allergies. So i would try going through that route before putting your child on these drugs. Sharonx
What are the behaviors she is displaying you dont say, share them maybe she hasnt got any behavior patterns some good Parent/child interaction wont help with. What is this Behavior make sure it is your gut feeling and not anyone else infroming you she has them.
DONT BEAT YOUR SELF UP, NONE OF THAT CAUSED ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR CHILD. I WENT THREW THE SAME THING WERE MY DAUGHTER POOPED BEFOR BIRTH AND SHE ATE IT. IT CAUSED HER ALOT OF PROBLEMS BUT........MY DAUGHTER WAS DIAGNOISED WITH ADHD AT AGE 4 .................BIG MISTAKE. I DONT WANT TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO BUT MY OPINION LET YOUR DAUGHTER BE A KID DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU THAT YOUR CHILD IS ADHD. I WANT MY STORY KNOWN TO EVERYONE. I HAVE LIVED IN HELL FOR 2 YRS. THEY SAID SHE WAS ADHD AT 4 STARTED MEDICATION AT 5. SINCE THEN SHE HAS ANXIETY AND ODD. SHE WAS ON 50MG OF VYVANCE 150MG ZOLOFT AND 10MG OF RISPERDALE.......UNTILL I RELIZED WHAT THEY WAS DOING TO HER. THESE DRS CREATED A MONSTER FOR ME. YESTURDAY WE HAD TO START WENING HER OFF THE MEDS AND I NOW HAVE A 7YR OLD THAT IS ADDICTED TO PERSCRIPTION DRUGS, SHE IS AGRESSIVE HATEFUL AND GOES INTO UNCOTROLLABLE RAGES. THE VYVANCE I FOUND OUT MAKES HER FEEL LIKE SHE IS ON COCAINE (WHAT A FEELING FOR A 7 YR OLD) SHE HAS BEGGED ME TO GET A GUN AND SHOOT HER. LET ME TELL YA THAT BREAKS A MOTHERS HEART TO SEE YOUR CHILD IN THAT MUCH PAIN, I FEEL WITH ALL MY HEART THAT THESE DRS NEED TO BE HUNG FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY DAUGHTER AND TO OTHER KIDS. JUST PLEASE I BEG YOU LET YOUR DAUGHTER BE A KID CAUSE TRUST ME YOU CAN DEAL WITH A HYPER CHILD AND IT IS DAMN HARD TO DEAL WITH A CHILD THAT HAS UNCONTROLLABLE RAGES AND IS VIOLENT. EXSPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE OTHER CHILDREN. JUST WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT LET THE DOCTERS DO TO YOUR CHILD LIKE THEY DONE TO MINE.
If you did these things really early in the pregnancy before you knew you were pregnant but stopped when you found out it probably hasn't done much if any damage but I may be wrong, I'm just going by what I have read and heard. As for a three year old showiing symptoms of ADHD, young children are hyperactive and stuff. I don't think at age three a child can really be accuratly determined to have ADHD. Wait a few more years and see if her behavoir changes, this behavoir might be normal for her age group and development. I wouldn't jump to adhd and meds just yet. She may not even need them.
Hi, if it's any consolation I have a friend with an Autistic child who also feels that maybe drinking and smoking in the inital days of her prenancy played a part in the Autism.
It seems to be natural for people to want to find a cause and look for something or someone to blame, but when you think about people in the old days that used to drink and smoke throughout pregnancy but still have perfectly healthy children I'd say it's very unlikely that your behaviour played any part. But that's just my opinion, your doc should be able to tell you tho.....
