how do i handle a child with adhd

Hi, this is the first time i m writing abt this .... my son 18 month old has been diagonalized with adhd .. i have not done Any treat for this. he just only wants to bite , hit people and cannot sit in one place even for a minute. i wonder from where does he get this kind of energy. he plays with no blocks , he does like to look at books and turn pages , but that too for just  few minutes .... he is a friendly person , he likes children but after  a few minutes he starts hitting them, he loves pulling hair, he likes climbing on chairs and tables and jumps down , he has no fear please suggest what should i do so that he spend some time in some thing creative rather then in things like this . i feel too tired and cannot handle him .....

hi there
you have to be kidding me a 18month old diagnosed with adhd, they age you really notcie something like that is school age. I think you have a normal toddler but you really need to start punishing him about the biting and hitting especially the biting for the other childrens sake even time out, but im sure you are exploring all those options. but personally and with good knowledge of havin a adhd child i would never of suspected it at that age, given that the are still babys at 18months old. CHANGE DOCTORS.

What doctor diagonalized your 18 month old with ADHD?  He sounds like a typical toddler going through the terrible twos.  I have a 7 year old with ADHD, a 6 year old without a medical problem and a toddler who is 26 months old.  Toddlers usually cannot sit still because they have "too much to do".  Biting and hitting people are normal as well since they cannot express their feelings just yet.  This age is also a time where they are testing boundaries to see how much they can do without getting hurt and to see how much they can get away with.  You should try to have your son reassesed as there could be nothing wrong with him.
