medicine free way

I was browsing around looking for non pill ways of curing ADHD and I came across a book called How to Cure ADHD. Has any one heard about it? On some other discussion forums some one had mentioned that they had used it and it really improved their child’s behavior. The website http://www.tocureadhd.com/ looked really promising. Has anyone else used it? I would like to finally have a non medical way of dealing with ADHD and this seems like the best option.

I have heard this also and I will look to see if there is a natural remedy to take, I agree with you about the meds so stick to your Guns and wait to try somehting other than the powerful stuff.I will post it up whatever I find,

True ADHD seems to be a brain formation difference.  I think of it like poor eyesight which is often an eyeball formation difference.  The eye is corrected easily by glasses and the brain by stimulants.  Does caffeine help?  If so, then meds will help too.  There is no "cure" at this time.  However, there are a lot of clever tricks to assist in overcoming or compensating for difficulties caused by the differences.  So, my advice is to look for some experienced folks and learn what they have found helps them.

Has someone diagnosed you have ADHD or do you think you have it, a lot of children out there are wrongly being diagnosed, make sure you have been correctly been accessed  and maybe get another opinion, go into the search engines you will be amazed at what you find.regarding htis.

Do your research, but KEEP AN OPEN MIND.
Sticking to your guns is not an open mind...and if this is your child you are talking about, not you, I beg you to seek out help.

My father was an alcoholic who died of the effects of drinking too much at the age of  42.  I never understood that until I was diagnosed with ADD...if I hadn't been diagnosed and put on ADD med, I would have killed myself by now (I'm a teacher with a masters degree, 3 kids and considered rather successful as an adult).  Having this disorder can be extremely stressful.  I believe my father was probably ADHD.

Kids who do not recieve relief from this disorder will most likely self-medicate when they get the chance...welcome to drug and alcohol abuse.

Make your decisions wisely and be open for change...search and search until you find a solution that works...especially if this is not your disorder...because if it's not...you don't even know.

I agree with jenbren---sometimes it is overly hard to go without what is needed (in my case meds) for a long time.  I too am a teacher and have a masters degree---but I had to work extra hard to do so---as my family didn't want me to take medications.  When I was 12, I felt different, I developed anxiety and depression-which resulted in an ulcer.  I tried a lot of natural remedies-that plain didn't work.  I feel lucky to have taken the step to see a doctor, and discussed my problems so I could get the treatment needed to make me feel like me again.
