Yep, the age is important because how one works with a 7 year old is different then how one would work with a 14 year old.

Please supply more specifics. By the way, misbehavior is not a peculiarity of ADHD, and all children, if they can get away with it, will misbehave.

Hi there.  I think it would help to provide more details.  How old is your child, are they officially diagnosed with add/adhd, what areas are you referring to that they don't 'listen'?  Details will certainly help anyone to understand what exactly you need advice about.

On the surface, it really helps to know as much as you can about the disorder of add/adhd.  Susan Ashley's book "the add/adhd handbook" is one that the community leader of this forum, Sandman, recommends.  Start there and then find as much as you can about add/adhd to learn about it.  Kids with add/adhd aren't wired the same.  Perhaps the 'not listening' is because there is more going on and he/she can't or is having impulse control, etc.  Traditional discipline often doesn't work for an add/adhd child.

anyway, more info would be appreciated.
