no sleep for 38 hours and counting since taking Vyvanse for ADD

I have been recently diagnosed with add and my dr proscribed me Vyvanse 30mgs twice daily. My dr also told me that if i didn't wake up in time for the first dose to just skip it and only take my second dose. On day one i was only able to take one dose in the afternoon and my bf said i seemed more narrow when i discussed stuff ( in comparison to taking really long unnecessary detours that have nothing to do with the topic on hand) but i still felt scatter brained like my mind was still channel surfing. I decided to keep up with it since Rome wasn't built in a day. On day two (well leading into day two,) i pulled an all nighter and was able to take my early dose. I took it at roughly 7:30am. For my second dose on day two i took it around 2:30 ( considering i wasn't really sure how long to wait) i also had NO appetite on day two and ate only a bread stick because i just couldn't make myself hungry enough to eat. It is not 2:27 am the morning of day three and i have not slept for 38 hours as of right now. I can't keep this up for the month my dr wants me to try Vyvanse. I'm not sure what to do, either stop taking the drug completely or maybe only take one of the two 30 mg doses instead of taking that twice a day. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated

script bottle probably repeats what the docs prescription said.  its easy to goggle it online and see what the standards are.  I repeat that I have never seen it listed as taking twice a day, but maybe he's got something in mind.  I would still call his office and ask if he made a mistake.  Hopefully, he is a psychiatrist and has lots of experience?

My script bottle even says twice a day. Ive decided to only take 30 mg once a day and depending on when i take it and how i feel by noon i determine on taking the second dose. Unfortunately im just stuck playing the getting the right dosage game. Thanks for the imput!

I  am wondering if you heard your doctor wrong.  V is one of the longest acting meds available.  Its duration is 8 to 12 hours.  It would be very unusual to prescribe it twice a day!  30mg is the lowest adult dose.  If you feel it is not working after a few days on it, it can be raised.  But look on the bottle.  It should say only once per day.
Anyway, increasing the dose by 10 mgs will add about 2 to 4 hours at night.  A high protein breakfast is important.  With one, you should feel the effects in 30 to 45 minutes.
Hope this helps, but I would get on the phone to your doc (what kind is he anyway?)  This medication is definitely not a two per day medication.
