vyvanse and suboxone

Just wondering if anybody else out there is taking this combination.i do have ADHD but also a 12 year addiction to opiates.so I read that people who are not treated for ADHD tend to self medicate.it was for legitimate pain at first after breaking back.so I talked to my doctor about it,and man what a difference in down from 16mg suboxone to 8mg after starting the vyvanse,at first I never thought I would ever come off suboxone.next month going to 4mg and so on until I'm off.the best thing about it is I don't hold my vyvanse so I can't abuse.laugh if you want but Dr brought my mom in made her sign contract that she would bring it too me every morning,I also had to sign for drug test .but it has been well worth it.so I'm thinking by Christmas I will be off suboxone completely and living normally.if anybody else in same issue I would like to hear from you.or any questions e-mail me at ***@****

Wow, this topic has gone all over with no one really referring to your post. I take suboxone and adderall. Four years on both and don't plan to stop. I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia, and did not do well on opana and adderall as I wound up directly in the mental ward. My life has completely changed since my first suboxone dose. My head is clear, memory coming back, I can get out of bed now. I do fall asleep often on my adderall, and I believe it can't keep up with suboxone sometimes, being how strong it is, I guess. But without either one of those, I'm toast. If your having opiate problems again, or cravings, I would get back on the suboxone asap. People are staying on this med for years and years, as a safer way to stay clean and not relapse. 12 years is quite awhile, and its hard to get over that in a few months. Like the people who do rapid detox or a month in rehab for 20years of drug use. It just doesn't work out like everyone hopes. I also believe if you don't quit your habit cold turkey, and suffer for months to a year, its likely you may go back. That stage of withdrawl, is something that sticks with you forever, and you don't want to suffer through again. Will power is another huge factor. Oh, I did have problems finding a Dr who would RX me both meds especially psychiatrists, now I have to see two separate doctors, two times a month and make them both aware.

I'm actually pregnant and diagnosed ADHD, OCD,  bi-polar, (the phase that includes manic stages) and oppisitional defiance disorder. I just had a daughter in May and she was taken by CPS after being two weeks old. I can't take any of my medicines because of the possible birth defects it may cause to the fetus. (I don't know what sex I'm having yet.) So in my first pregnancy I would smoke marijuana to self medicate myself I guess you would say. I'm still involved with CPS so I haven't smoked anything this pregnancy so I can get my daughter back. I was put on one medication to partially stabilize me but with all the issues I face it's hard to function correctly with little medical support.

I totally understand what you are saying,I think more adults who have addiction issues, depression, anxiety, feel socially awkward, should all go and get checked for adult ADHD.most people who have it usually where diagnosed as children. But alot aren't,and make it through but with alot of misery.a number of them become addicts.matter of fact vast majority of addicts where diagnosed, and some where not.But if you are addict had trouble as a kid,and still fighting as an adult you owe it to yourself to check at least.go to www.chadd.com.you can find adult information and I think self test.i wish everyone out there the best
