You are doing great narla!!!!
I was addicted to codeine and alcohol, stopped both C/T plus at the same time went into counselling to deal with child sexual abuse at ages 7 to 10 perpatrated by my brother who was 10 yrs older than me.
some drink post pill addiction..and some alcoholics take pills post alcoholism..both r risky as both r substances...we justalways have to be careful
have fun..worrying too much can even drive u to mess up sometimes!
have a good one
The party was great and I wasn't triggered by anything,I just drank my drinks and was fine.I think it's just that you know every time you used to go to a party you'd be the one doing all the drinking and until your there knowing you'll be staying sober you don't know how you'll handle it so you worry.
Glad you are safe. Do the non alcoholic drinks trigger you more? Just curious, i know one of my friends that is an alcoholic drinks them now socializing and it works for him, but getting that taste could also set something off, I don't know. I think it would make me want booze, but that is only me. You did great tonight.
Well I just got back from the shops and I bought non-alcoholic drinks for tonight,But I got a cocktail glass, swizzle stick, and the little umbrellas as well as lemon and lime,So I'll be drinking lemon, lime and bitters that will look just like a cocktail.
Happy to hear your results were good, we do heal:) Please be very careful tonight, when those thoughts start to happen and we are around drugs and alcohol it makes it that much tougher. There are still times even now if I am not feeling safe and maybe even just craving a lil that I stay home just to be safe cause it's scary to me thinking what could happen. You have come so far and I am proud of you, just be careful ok. You have come so far:)
I guess to answer your question, what i do is post just like you have done, talk to close friends and let them know I am struggling. It keeps me honest. I also try to stay busy and think of how bad i was during my use, it was a nightmare. Stay safe narla, your doing so good. Congrats on passing the BIG 90 day mark.
