There are a variety of names we can ascribe to the condition. It is a dysfunction which can affect behavior, emotions, etc., etc. If you want to call it "executive functioning disability" that's OK.

ADHD is not an 'emotional ailment', it is an executive functioning disability. I for one, have it, and happen to do quite well on adderall.

The answer to your question is that doctors are not infallible.

One out of 10 children is diagnosed with ADHD. About two-thirds of those diagnosed are being drugged, usually with some form of speed.

Does it make sense to you that one-tenth of our children have emotional ailments? There is a book you might want to read called "The Drugging of Our Children," by Gary Null.

Well, first, she may have ADD not ADHD in which case she would not be hyper.
Second, a doctor should have followed the Clinical Guidelines before the medication would have been prescribed.  AD/HD must be present in two or more different settings and have 6 different symptoms present.   This involves getting information from teachers, etc.

Why is she taking psychotropic medication?  What did her doctor diagnose her with?  This seems to be a question you need to discuss with the doctor.
