prescription adderrall question

Hey there,

I'm 21 years old and have struggled with depression, anxiety and focusing issues like retention and processing disorder since 16 years old. When I was 18, I was admitted involuntarily to a pyschiatric hospital and stayed there for a week. While I was there, the doctor prescribed me adderrall for ADD after hearing my symptoms. After leaving the hospital another pyschiatrist prescribed me adderrall once again. My mother during the time was very against ADD medication and would no longer pay for me to get it. While I was on the medication I saw huge improvement and even was able to work. Now at 21 and jobless living with my mother she has agreed that the adderrall was beneficial and that I should make another appt to try and get back on it. My question is will a doctor prescribe it to me again? I read that adderrall has high potential for abuse and I don't want the doctors to feel like I'm an addict. Please let me know. Thanks

The thing is that, if you have ADHD or ADD, you don't get a high from the stimulant medications.  You slow down, become more clear headed, and can concentrate better, among other things.   Also, the prescription process virtually guarantees that you cannot abuse the medication.  this is a good link on current research.  http://www.additudemag.com/adhdblogs/19/10197.html
Hope this helps, please post if you have any more questions.
