Help!! i am 23 years old and have recently been getting large pimples all over my face. I am Using Retin-a-Micro-but it does not seem to be helping.  can it be from a lack of vitamins or minerals?

I agree- I dont think think a lack of vitamins would cause acne- but it doesnt hurt to take vitamins just for healthy living!

I use and love proactiv. I'm a 24/f and I also suffer from breakouts and proactiv works really well. Try drinking a lot of water too- it really helps clear up your skin!

I know accutane works- but I also know a lot of people who have suffered some adverse reactions from it. i would search www.adverse-drug-reaction.net if you are thinking about taking oral antibiotics to see what types of reactions others have had.

Hope this helps!

Hi. Diet has not been proven to be linked to acne. However it has been observed that many acne sufferers are deficient in zinc so a supplement may be indicated. Be patient with the topical treatment it will take at least 8 weeks to see results.
If you are female ask your doctor about an anti-androgen contraceptive pill like Diane35 which provides birth control and clears acne.
Oral antibiotics can also be useful in treating acne but taking zinc concurrently may be contraindicted with tetracyclines. Loiloi xx
