can chinese herbs cause sexual problems?

I've been taking Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture for about 3 years for an illness my doctors can't diagnose.  I've taken most fresh herbs boiled as a tea and given by an experienced practitioner.  Symptoms include fatigue, cloudy thinking, and sexual problems.  The herbs have been somewhat helpful, especially in the beginnning, including with the loss of libido.  But I haven't been able to sustain any improvement, and in fact the sexual symptoms have gradually worsened to the point where I can no longer experience sexual pleasure.

My question is whether Chinese herbs can themselves lower libido, if taken wrongly.  If so, can this be remedied?

Thanks for your response.  I've been to a few different practitioners and all were experienced and came recommended.  They all gave me different treatments, and spoke of different patterns (with some overlap, e.g. kidney problems).  But how do I know if one is properly identifying my pattern?  And how do I know if the herbs have potentially contributed to the condition?  Is there any research on this, i.e. negative side effects on libido?  Would this damage be reversible?  Do you happen to know any highly qualified specialist in western europe who might be able to help with this?  Thanks.

If Chinese medicine can help a condition drastically then it makes sense that it can do the opposite as well.  There are many good formulations for sexual dysfunction.  It is paramount to your treatment that the Chinese doctor properly identifies your specific pattern If not formulations will be wrong or not effective.
