**Calling All Canadian's***

Ok, so I've been struggling with this issue for a long time.  I just don't get it.  Is Canada part of British Columbia, and what exactly is a Province?  Why is the Queen on all Canadian Currency?? Thank you.

Canada is one of the largest countries in the world. The queen, although pictured on our money, has no true value other than to the," Dyed in the wool Royalists." Our Prime minister, along with the other prime ministers who have been the head of our country, is someone who also has no value other than to himself and his cohorts who love to tax us to death and cut our services. Similar somewhat to your heads of state in the U.S.A. Our provinces vary from poor to extremely rich depending on what region it is. For instance, Alberta is an oil rich province while Prince Edward Island is mere potatoes. No pun intended at the fact that that is the main production of P.E.I , the potato. Unfortunately most Canadians are apathetic and take no interest in politics or the sort until they get bitten by thing such as high gasoline costs which, again depending on region, can run anywhere from six to seven plus dollars a gallon. We tend to gripe, quietly in the sanctity of our own homes, in coffee shops and at the bingo halls. Other than that we sit quietly by while our Government reams us, you know where, in a continuous manner and we accept it wordlessly. I have no doubt that this sounds familiar to you Americans as we seem to follow whatever trend the U.S.A. sets. This, as you will note, is one of my favourite gripes. You may also notice that we add a 'U" to many of our words such as favourite, honour, etc. Other than that we are quite similar in that we follow blindly where our Governments lead us.

It was my understanding that the prime minister has to defer in all decisions to the players of the Iron Legaue during hockey season. :)

Thank so much for taking the time and explaining so well.  Problem is I may have to read it 50 times to maybe understand.  I don't know why I can't absorb this, but your explanation is much appreciated.

Thanks again,

British Columbia is a province of Canada. A province is similar to a state. There are 10 provinces and 3 territories; The provinces are Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. The three territories are Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon.

Province rules are regulated from the crown and the territories are ruled by the federal government. I guess I could say the queen is a highly regarded figure as England has had a tremendous amount of historyand influence with Canada, as France too, try going to Quebec and speaking English....it's like going to France. Quebec is heavily influenced by France.

British Columbia is a province of Canada. The Queen is the Head of State. So she is honored on the currency, other than that. Canada is one huge country.
