HELP!! HUBBY DETOXING AT HOME

My husband is detoxing for the thrid time. He went to a hospital the first two times and this time he is staying at home. He has a percscription for suboxone that he recieved from a pain management doctor that then released him as a patient due to a bad check and canceling appointments. He took his last oxy 30mg at 11pm on Friday, he took valium and ambien saturday night and sunday and went through terrible withdrawls. He took 4 mg of suboxone at 3, then 2 more at 7 then 2 more at 1200am. He is sleeping right now with out shaking and turning all over the place. He has been incredibly mean and vicious, even on the suboxone. Is this normal? Any advice on how to do this? What can I do for him? How can I ease his resentment towards me? (I have a severe case of MS and as a result, pain medicine of my own) He thought after the first and second time that he could take the pills as perscribed but he can't. I am giving him vitamins and letting him sleep as much as possible which I know you are supposed to do... but for how long? Should I push him to eat? Get up and be active? I know everybody is busy during this time but I would really appreciate any insight, advice, or tips that you might have.

I was wondering if you or your mother in law have a problem witht the oxycodones.  I have learned with my situation with my husband that it is hard to get clean around others that have access to the meds.  As for the meaness......I think it kinda goes with  the withdrawals and he doesn't mean it personally.  My personal advice is to just love him.

Thank you so much for your response! My hubby absolutely refuses to go to any meetings. He thinks that he does not need them, that he is not made that way. However, he has relapsed twice. The second time he went into the hospital, we had all run out of pills because he took them all and that is why I think he went. My doctor refilled my script after he went in as  well as my mother in laws who lives with us. We get 180 30mg of oxycodone every month. When he heard this I think that he was always planning on coming right home and using again. This time however, he had no circumstances forcing him to detox, we even have an unfilled script. He said he wants to be done with it, and I want to believe him. It is hard though because he has lied so much about everything. I have faith and hope but it is so hard sometimes.

I wrote this yesterday morning. I am a night owl and am always on the computer late at night. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! It seems like you give everyone good advice and thoughts!

Do your best to not take your hubbys actions & bitterness to personal, as I myself have been where your hubby is twice, I detoxed off oxys twice at home & I remember not even wanting to speak to or even look at my very own children! & Believe me, my children are what makes me the happiest, I love my kids, but during a taper off oxy the person you know & love isnt the same. So if I were you, dont bother him right now, he will come around when he,s ready, it could be 3 days up the road? Maybe more, but from my own personal experience I just wanted the world to go away & wanted so bad to feel better, but my main desire was for everyone to leave me in peace, if or when he wants something he will let ya know, this is one of the many reasons why people go onto rehab, & when you do go to rehab you dont somtimes see a loved one for many days, & keep in mind, its not over when the physical parts done, this disease is long term & must be dealt with daily, so hopefully he will aquire some sort of group therapy NA or AA.
