Has anyone had a paranormal experience??

I watched the "curse of poltergiest" and wondered if anyone hear as had a weird experience. I have premonitions a lot and don't really like that.

My mother was dying from cancer and she came home from the hospital, she slipped into a coma. I was staying at a villa (with family) on the Gulf of Mexico. I wanted to get back to see the sunset and left my parents home (5 minutes away) to return in the morning. There was a Blue Heron named Percy who live on top of the villa. He would not let another bird in his territory. He would come begging at the porch screen or door to the villa. My parents lived on a canal and would get this certain egret that my mother loved. After we went back in the villa a egret came to the door looking for a handout. I felt something just leave me, it was the worst feeling of my life. I got very emotional and called my parents house right away. My brother answered and told me there was a heron outside their porch. Tears started pouring down my face and I rushed to my parents home. I walked in and saw my mother's friend and neighbor (she was an RN) and she told me she had passed 10 minutes ago. I know my mother's spirit was in the white egret when it came to the door.

Whew, that was hard to write.

I know you are right sweetie.  Right now my mind is not what it should be - I am doubting everything.  I know he was with me and always will be.  I wish he could help me out of this mess and you too for that matter.  I think both our fathers should take away the wd's for all of us and make us clean - let us start again.  Without the pain.

I love when you digress by the way.

i don't doubt at all it was your dad.. you know, i mentioned this the other day on the forum, but i am certain my father was with me the other night.  he knew things had been a lil rough for me lately, and call it crazy... but he was in my room with me.  it was so strong ... i just smiled, and told him how glad i was he was there.

the drugs dull all of these beautiful experiences.  right before the drugs/back thing for me, i was spending alot of time in "quietness" (meditation) and I can tell you the more "centered" i get, the stronger those intuitions - and more frequent - they become.

which the Buddhists will tell you is NOT the goal (of meditation) - and if it is, you are missing the point.  but i will say it is a wonderful "by product" of it...

sorry.. i digressed!  but what else is new... :-)

This thread is so large that I am not sure what to comment on.  The paranormal experiences or the religious debate.  I have very strong feelings regarding the religious side of it but I will save it for another time.

My experience was when my father was very ill.  He was dying of bone cancer and was having a particularly bad day pain wise.  So we took him to the hosipital (I was 11 years old).  I remember that night like it was yesterday.  He was on so many pain killers that he was talking incoherently.  We stayed late that night and returned the next morning.  He seemed to be doing better.  We visited with him all morning and then my brother (who was 9 at the time) and I asked my mom to take us to get something to eat.  We left thinking that my dad was fine.  This is when it gets strange though - when we were walking down the hall I remember wanting to turn around three times.  I felt something was going to happen but I wasn't sure what.  I did not think anything more about it until we got back from lunch.  I remember walking down the hall and seeing my dad's doctor, then seeing the nurse in the doorway to his room.  I knew instantly that he had passeed.  I am not sure why I wanted to turn around when we were leaving.  We had been to the hospital so many times before and that was the first time something like that had happened.  It was so strange but I wasn't afraid.  I always felt special to my father and maybe he was saying goodbye but did not want me to see him pass.

Then a few days later I was home alone.  I remember feeling so lonely.  I was sitting in my dad's chair that he had sat in.  I can't remember what I was doing but the front door to the house opened and I felt a chill up my spine.  I felt like he was near.  It was not windy that day.  I have no idea if it was him or me just wishing he was there so much that I imagined it.  I don't know but I have not had another feeling like those since - not that strong.

thank you, let me figure out the best way...

you know, my father passed 2 weeks ago... he'd held on to alot of anger, guilt, etc. etc. for alot of his life (but also had wonderful qualities, too, of course.)  but at the end, really didn't want to be here anymore.  as i said, there was alot of anger at times, and fear...

interestingly - and I thank God 1000x a day for this - he passed with such peace.  i was not there, but my stepmom told me he "saw 7 women in white, greeting him." he was also speaking in German at some points, which he did not know (not in this life anyway...)  as well, he said "there is no heaven, there is no hell;" and most importantly - to me - he was speaking with my brother who died many years ago, who's death my father never really recovered from.

i am SO greatful he died in peace.

I am going to find out more this weekend when i see my stepmom and go get his ashes.  but the hospice worker said that the vision of the 7 women was quite common.

what do you think?  if anything?

thank you shadow...
with luv,
mj

Thank you, as I am sorry for your loss as well. I was with both of my parents and many patients during their transition/crossing over, and it can be the most peaceful of times, or the most brutal.

A friend of mine was killed in a car crash. A couple of nights before she died, she was sleeping on her couch. She saw a vision of Jesus and felt such comfort and said he was so beautiful. She swore she was not dreaming. She did not tell me this, but told her best friend and she told me. She died 2 days later. Another friend was in the car with her and she died also. It was so tragic.

I never knew anyone with a life/death experience. My brother was with my mother at the moment of her death and told me it looked like she was smiling.

Your entries sound like you also were born with a caul.  And that you are extremely perceptive to people, feelings etc., like I am.  I have spoke to those needing to cross over, and by journaling everyday, has strengthened my intuitiveness.

my nde happended during my pregnancy with our still born son, at 8 1/2 months gestation. It gets strange, since many of my perceptions etc relate to death, like I know when someone had died before being called etc. I would wake out of sound sleep sit up and hubby would just say "call work" and I would and ask who had died, and within 15 min to half hour someone had died.

The doctor told my mother I was still born and they could not get a heartbeat. I was alive and kicking, as you can see.

Yes, then because of post traumatic stress syndrome, I underwent induced after death communication, which was a trip and a half.  The author of Induced After Death Communication, actually added my story and ADC to his book by that title.

were yours similar, in what you "saw?"

How many of you have had a NDE, (near death experience), or were born with a caul (veil over your face) which is just being born with the amniotic sac over your face.  I have had 2 NDE's and was born with a caul.  I am just curious and am a new member to this forum.

You cannot pick and choose from the Bible... if you want, I will go get many passages that will completely support things I am certain you are "against
-------------------
First of all, I am against nothing the bible says. So that would be impossible.

just plain ol' nuttiness that was written a very long time ago, and has been rewritten a thousand times, therefore, diluted.
--------------------
Yes, the bible was written a very long time ago, but the words are still just as powerful and meaninful now as they ever were. Nuttiness? Perhaps to you its nuttiness. To me....its Truth.
The 'nuttiness' that was written thousands of years ago in Revelations are happening TODAY, right now....Jesus warned against the coming end times...and the signs of the times, speaking of the major earthquakes and diseases...the immoralities and destruction....
Look at AIDS, cancer....the tsunami, the terrorism....etc. What you call nuttiness I call prophecies coming true.

Above all, however, one should not judge.  I know many, many good Christians who believe in "other dimensions" and that makes them no less a good person.  How can one possibly think they know everything that exists in this world, with such a powerful God at the helm?  Do you really think you know all there is?
---------------------

Judge? I haven't judged anyone. I simply posted biblical truth regarding mediums. That's all. And, no I do not claim to know everything...lol....I am sorry that you somehow interpreted that from my post.

And please do not put others down because their beilefs are not yours... and there are many a born-again Christians who tout the Bible, then go out and sleep with a male hooker while doing crytal meth, all the while telling us how drugs and homosexuality is a sin... there is on of the biggest crimes of all - hypocrisy.
-----------------------------------

Again, I never put Tim down....I asked him a question, and tried to enlighten him to the truth in the scriptures. Christians are not perfect, we are all sinners. If christians were perfect, then there would have been no need to send Christ to die for our sins. We are ALL sinners----even christians. Yes, I know there are christians that still continue to do wrong, to use drugs/engage in sexually immoral acts...and that is between them and God. God knows His true children....He looks at their hearts and can tell who is sincere. I am a sinner, I don't deny that. But I do try to do as God wants...I try to live as Jesus would want me to. But of course I screw up. We all do. I know when God looks at me, He sees me clothed in the righteousness of His Son's sacrifice. God looks at me and sees Jesus, because I claimed the gift of salvation He offers to all of us. When I screw up, I ask forgiveness, and I know I have recieved it because of God's mighty Grace and Love.
And, again, I am very sorry if you thought I was attacking or judging. I wasn't. I am nobody to judge anyone----that is God's job. But Jesus did tell us to tell another brother/sister in Christ if they were veering off the path a little bit. And that's all I was trying to do regarding Tim and the medium/paranormal story. I have done nothing wrong here.

God Bless you,

Blake Ferraro

Tim..well, I think what your brother is saying is he can feel the love and goodness of someone else who is filled with the Holy Spirit, when it reflects off of them. Meaning....when someone that is saved is showing compassion and love, as Jesus wants us to do, THAT is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit--to me--is also kind of a 'warning system' of what is right and wrong. See, that's why I responded to your post about the paranormal and mediums. My 'warning system' went off and that's why I wanted to shed a little biblical light on the subject. I know that mediums/psychics are wrong because the bible says so. Remember in the story of Moses, when Pharoah's 'magicians' tried to use their sorcery to make their staffs turn into snakes? And Moses, calling on the LORD also made HIS staff a snake----and Moses' staff/snake ATE the other snakes. It was to prove a point, that God IS, WAS, and always WILL BE stronger than any of satan's deceptions. And that is what a medium is....a work of satan. Alot of people will argue that mediums help to find lost children and, if they were works of satan then why would satan care about finding lost children....well.....think about it. Yes, a medium can help to find a lost child(sometimes) but look who gets the glory in that....satan. That's why so many people can get confused on the matter. satan is the master of deception and will use all tricks available to glorify himself. Including....(and alot of people are going to jump on me for this one)....using his demons to take shape of a 'lost loved one' coming back from the grave.
You see, when someone dies...if they have accepted the gift of salvation...the shed blood of Christ....if a person believes that Christ was crucified and died so that we may live....and if a person truly believes that Christ IS the only way to the Father....then that person is saved.
Acts 2:21
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
Romans 10:13
for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
2 Thessalonians 2:13
[ Stand Firm ] But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.
Tim, I truly don't want you to think I was attacking you. I wasn't. I was trying to help you....trying to show you what God says about mediums. And also to show you what the gift of salvation means. It really is as simple as it sounds. Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Jesus was tortured, humiliated, and crucified for US. HE took OUR place on that cross. HE died so that we might live eternally with Him in Heaven. I'm sure you are familiar with John 3:16...."For God so loved the WORLD He sent His only begotten son, so that whoever may believe in Him shall not perish but instead have eternal life...." Well, that is probably the most important verse in the whole bible. It is to me, anyway. Please stay away from mediums, and anything like that because it glorfies satan. Keep reading your bible, and pray that God sends you the Holy Spirit to help you understand when you are reading the bible. You know, prayer doesn't always mean you have to get on your knees and speak in latin. (lol) Prayer is just talking to God. Yep. Just saying to Him "Hey, I had an interesting day today...." or whatever. Of course, He already knows about your day, He's God...but He wants to have a personal relationship with you. God WANTS you to come to Him with your problems, your triumphs, your heartbreaks. Well, I suppose I have (as usual) talked too much. lol. But I just wanted to respond to your questions and to let you know I wasn't attacking you.
I pray for you and your family, as I hope to be in your prayers, also.

What a topic! Regarding the subject matter- it has hit me twice.

Once i had a dream when i was on vacation as a teenager in Florida- a short man in his 50s with a thick eastern European accent was talking to me on Hollywood Beach on multiple subjects- all i can say is this felt very different.  I'm thumbing through some of my Aunt's photo albums and there he was- my father's father who passed away in 1937- this was the 1st time I saw a picture of him

Second, the day my second son was born i received a call that my father was on his last hours. I was on a plane the next day to see him in the Hospice. All i can say was this whole experience was numbing and painful seeing him in a semi-coma state.  However, on the 7th day he somewhat came out of it- somewhat.  I always felt blessed because i had this time with him.  I would have liked to stay with him till the end, however Jewish law dictates that the Bris (circumcision) takes priority over any other event and i had to go back.  I called the hospice constantly that day to see if he was alive (for the naming of the child- Jews do not have juniors due to issues with the angel of death). Anyway, my father was alive and my son was named after my wife's grandparents.  10 pm that evening i felt something and 10:30 i received the call that my dad passed away

Question for you. My brother always tells me he can feel the holy spirit in another person, is that not the same as my feeling vibes from someone?  How does he know it is the holy spirit? This is where I get very confused when debating with my brother and there are other points of debate. Am I less of a Christian because I was not born again? In all honesty, I get very confused and have many questions.

God Bless,
Tim

I will start reading my bible!!!

I take no offense to your question. I never said I was "born again", I have always been a Christian  since I was a small child. I went to bible school all my young life. I go to church, pray and believe that Jesus Christ is our Saviour. I come from a long line of Baptist ministers and missionarys. I went reluctantly to the medium when I was 21 yrs old (my wife begged me to). My brother is a born-again Christian and he believes that (mediums) are the power of the devil, as you do. My brother has different opinions than I and we have many disgreements. eg. He believes that Osama Bin Laden should be forgiven and he will go to Heaven if he repents. I totally disagree with that.
I am curious about this subject (ESP) because it happens to me too often. It bothers my brother that I let my children enjoy Halloween. My brother encourages me on a daily basis to read my bible and he speaks in tongues. I know where you are coming from and have much respect. I have always tried to smother these feelings and have never sought mediums/witchraft/ouji boards or anything pertaining to that, other than the time I mentioned. I can't control my dreams or thoughts of future events.

God Bless you brother,
Tim

Tim, a couple of things I wanted you to read:
Deuteronomy 18:10-11   "Let no one be found amoung you who sacrifices his son or daughter by the fire, who practices DIVINATION OR SORCERY, who interprets OMENS, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, OR WHO IS A MEDIUM OR SPIRITULIST THAT CONSULTS THE DEAD."

Leviticus 19:31  "Do not turn to meduims or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them, for I am the Lord your God.

And that is just 2 verses I found. I am not trying to turn this into a religious debate, for there can be no debate. God's word is His word, and for you to claim to be a born again christian, and for you to be quite supportive of mediums and paranormal activity really bothered me, that's all. Please re-examine your beliefs and read your bible.
