Laxative dependency

I have been taking laxatives everyday now for about two weeks.  I have actually been taking from 12-30 pills at a time.
I have seen that there is a risk of dependency on it, and I was wondering, is it a dependency as in to a drug, or that you are constipated and won't be able to defecate unless you take the laxatives?

sorry you are going through this,
addiction is a funny thing, people can get addicted to just about any durn thing
at one time in my life i took advil like a junkie, and while its supposedly not addicting, i sure developed a need for 8 advil a day
try to stop the laxitives on your own, and if you cannot stop then me or someone on the eating disorder forum can guide you to a professional
i do not spend much time over there, but i am a memeber, i know several people over there that can help you
i know from experience, taking laxitives IS a real addiction and can cause major GI trouble
here a website that you can call someone in your area and they can help you with this
https://www.oa.org/meetings/find-a-meeting-online/
i do not take laxitives anymore, havent for a long time, when i do have problems going to the restroom i use fiber chewables, taken as directed
i will be willing to talk more via private message

Geese,, doesn't your stomach kill u with all these laxatives? To answer your question, laxatives are not physically dependent in that u will not have w/d from ceasing to take them abruptly. You can and may develop a physological dependence in that you fell you "must have them". Now first question.... do u have an eating disorder? Sounds to me that you may have one and at best a distorted body image. If you keep this up, you will not be able to have a normal bowel movement on your own as you stated above. The bowels will get lazy and depend on the laxatives to get em moving. You could also cause damage to your intentines etc from the hypereactivity of constantly going. Also, you are probably getting dehydrated so make sure you take in plenty of fluids especially gatorade. This behavior has got to stop as you can do real harm to ur body. good luck
