Alprazolam

Hi, I have been taking alprazolam for 2 months -- almost everyday. I take 0.5mg or 1 mg, when i am emotionally disturbed.
But, now past week, i have kept away from it. I am doing ok, but i have a problem with sharp sounds- shrill and sudden. My ears hurt badly when i hear the phone or TV or any other sudden sound.
Is this any way connected with my keeping away from alprazolam?
Does it happen?

You might just be feeling some withdrawal from the drug. You are suppose to taper down. You may just be feeling some irritability and not sleeping as well so a sudden noise or phone ringing can upset you. You should be ok in a few days as the drugs leaves your system. Maybe you should check with your doctor and say that you just stopped taking it and what your feeling. Your pharmacy can tell you as well. Hope you feel better soon.
