Loratab Home Detox WD

I have spent the last few restless days looking at posts etc.. just found out wife has a loratab addiction. I need some help, she has been taking 7 10mg loratabs daily, down to 31/2 to 4 tabs aday now. she took 1 this morning and now we are starting home detox.  I have gone out and bought a grocery list but im afraid that i am going to over medicate her.  we have 4 xanax for emergencies.  i am not sure what i am in for. can anyone give me an idea what to expect day to day? i have the L-tyronine, B-6, Casium, Multi-Vit, Magneese/Zinc/Copper/ Phosphous, Imodium, water, gaterade, oranges, bananas, apples, fish oil, solonpas patches, valeian root, dark choc. Bynadryl, 5HTP, B-complex, Nyquil, Chammoile Tea, blue berries.  HELP! I seem to have everything just not sure where to start or what happens if i overlap things. How much and what do i give on day 1?  something on days 2-4?  how long with this last?  Nobody know whats going on.  I feel overwhelmed.   her last loratab was at 10AM its 3:30 now.

She is doing very well, she got up Monday and went into the closet and gave me what I believe was her last emegency pill and said "I'm done, I don't want to do these anymore".  The Sunday night of day 2 was leg cramps and not much sleep, last night (Monday) she slept pretty well, ws up a few hours with muscle achs in arms. today will start day4, and she is up and walking around, achy but doing very well, its an answer to prayers.
I am amazed at the strentgh that everyone has and the courage that it takes to get off the stuff, I will be praying for you, stay close and post.

if you read what ive been through above it isn't easy and their isn't much you can do until he really wants to stop. I been on them 6 years at least twenty a day and i quit cold turkey 7 days ago and yes the first 4 days a rough and a lot of pain, but you will make it. I found it easier to stop when i really wanted to, everyone else has wanted me to but i wasn't ready and now that i have stopped i really feel much better. Keep in touch

Cakid- thank you for posting updates, it helps to hear first hand what others are dealing with.  I need some advice as well--
I am dating a man who has been addicted to loratabs for almost 6 years.  I always thought he just took them occasionally for recreation.  Now he's taking them everyday for "his back pain."  He had back surgery at 18 years old and is having a hard time recovering and dealing with his pain managment (he is now 21).  He admitted to me the severity of his problem recently and that he wants to quit but is scared of the pain. He wakes up every morning with terrible stomach aches already and I feel that he might have damaged the lining of his stomach by taking so many pills?  I really want to help him, but I'm three hours away and he's at college so I know he has access to anything he might want.  Is there anything I can do from such a distance?  I was considering mailing him a detox pack with some of the items that have been discussed here (vitamins, amino-acids, sleep aids...etc)  and maybe a book about addiction?  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

thanks a lot i'm very proud of myself and i hate to hear people going thru the same thing it is the worse feeling, but keep pushing her tell her she is everything and keep up the good work. I didn't like xanax either so i dont think she would have a problem with that but tell her i said to keep strong and she can do this and if she wants she can talk to me. I promise it does get better and you will feel so much better about yourself.

Hi, Ashley, you have great stregth,  I am so encouraged to see what you are accomplishing, Way to go. thats awesome. I too agree if she doesn't have the desire to quite it will never happen. But I praying that she does. She says she "isn't worried about the Xanax and that you can't get hooked on just 4", plus she says "She isn't into Xanax it's not her thing."
Thanks Ashly and keep up the good work,
Cakid.

hey i saw your asking for advice. I have been taking lortab 10mg for six years and take at least twenty a day i can go thru 60 in two days, but i stopped and detox myself on monday. the first 4 days seriously suck but you got to keep her moving, I know that sounds hard because i was at work laid on the floor screaming to go home but my job is a family business and they knew if they kept me doing something it would be easier, and it did help, alot, even though i felt like i couldn't move. You are a great husband but i wouldn't give her xanax that can start another problem and they will make her feel worse the next day. I talked to my doctor and they said xanax is the worse pill to come off of. I quit cold turkey with a few tylenol a day and they will help because that is what is in the lortab but you will slowly have to decrease them so she won't depend on them also hot baths do help. Tell her she is strong and she will get thru this. Its been six days for me with none and i haven't taken anything else to get thru it. I told myself over and over don't let this pill run your life anymore and that helps me. But keep encouraging her and tell her she is strong enough to beat this, i don't know about any vitamins or anything else to take, I just quit it all, if i was going to do it, it was going to be my way, i didn't want another pill to get me off another one, i don't won't to ever go thru that again much less anyone else cause it does suck. But give her projects to do don't let her sleep all the time, sometimes you will have to push her and leave her no choice for at least couple hours a day. let me know.

hey there.. I was told you needed some direction with amino acids and detox??  I did quite a bit of research on this so if I can be of any help please let me know.. I have posted lots of threads on this.. If you use the search engine for the site you should be able to locate them.. if you cannot I can re post them for ya..
L-tyrosine should only be used if she is really lacking energy... so if she is trying to sleep and relax at this time I would wait a few days to start that.. 5HTP is used for depression.. 50mgs-100mgs  3x per day taken with B vitamin complex. also helpful to take it with some kind of juice.. helps it to cross the blood brain barrier..
If you need any help or suggestions please shoot me a post or email.. my email is in my profile just click on my screen name.. I will be back on later tonight..

XOXO
Stephanie

Thanks for the directions.  I agree we need to have a good plan in place for the family.  She is doing suprisingly well, tired and a little achy, but not complaining. Thats certainly a answer to prayers.

Listen, I didn't read every single post here, but to your question if friends or family should stop by, I say NO if she's only 1 day in.  She won't want company.  Actually, regardless of what day she's at - if she has acces to THE pills from family - no no no.  Not til you guys have a plan as to what to do about that.

As for the amino's - go over to the other forum, punch in "amino acids" in the search engine and 8 threads will come up.  the 8th you wil see "amino acids..blah blah... Fladdict" click on that one.  all the info is there.

what i don't know is when you should start them.  Right now, i'd worry more about The Thomas Recipe and getting her through the next 3-4 days.  But see what the amino post says... I could be wrong..

good luck buddy,
mj
