Music that helps us through this..

i was just wondering what songs people listen to that might help them through some of this. probably a little off subject, but i thought i change it up a bit.

my song is "One Last Chance" by James Morrison

I wouldn't have made it through the whole withdrawal period without bone thugs n harmony... they just chilled me out... but that's the kind of music i like, so.... I also liked this song by lifehouse called everything....

While I was on methadone music was something that got lost in the shuffle, since being off of it, I hop in my car & throw in my Tom Petty cd, I know he,s old school, but I love that guy!

Any song by Blue October. The singers story is similiar to my own I relate to the music like nothing else. Basically the story of my life is contained in those songs.

By the way, best concert I've ever been to was to see Tom Petty. Great artist.

I love music...mostly blues, bluegrass, Grateful Dead and others from years past..but, I found during withdrawl, I had no interest in music, except perhaps for Cowboy Junkies, but some of their music, while being wonderful, can depress the heck out of you.  Thankfully, I'm back to enjoying music..don't know what I'd do without it.

You can't go wrong with Stevie Ray Vaughn..or if you like it a little heavier..some Alice in chains (well some of their songs are real depressing but he died from all he sings about)
Also Corrosion of Conformity.

Agree with you on SRV...there's so much music I like I wouldn't know where to start..though not much today that grabs me...a generational thing I suppose.  I love a lot of guitar.  But, I've been hooked on the Grateful Dead for nearly 40 years and I don't think that's gonna change ;-)
