How to taper...

Can anyone help me taper off of oxycodone 30mg... taking like 10 a day. Started with hydros, then went to Norco's and percocet.. eventually built up to oxy... it's been about 3 years.. I want to cut back and eventually stop completely. I can't have anyone help me as my husband is a recovering addict and no one knows that I take medicine except for him. Can you do this on your own? Any advice?

You are very smart to get a handle on this now. I left a msg for Fladdict and she will be able to help you with a taper. Be very careful with your medication and tell your Mom & Aunt too. You will have to hide this from him. I am sending positive vibes your way.

Yes, my husband just got out of rehab.. I have Multiple Sclerosis and take pain medication to manage. I want to taper off because I am right on the line of being totally out of control, actually I really already am. I have a prescription for my medication but I know that I am very dependent on it. I don't want to get even more out of control... I need to get control and help my husband if possible. He resents me because I still have and take medication. His mom and aunt also have some. I am confused? I thought your husband just got out of rehab. I am guessing you take this for pain and want to come off it. You can do this on your own and many here will help you. Google the Thomas Recipe and a member named Fladdict can help you with a taper. She has been ver successful. I will send her a message to answer your taper questions. It is going to be hard, but it will be worth it.
