I though it was cute......
I'm a grammar nazi....this was killing me!!!
yeah, i noticed that one too late. too fast fingers and no proofreading will give you egg on the face if not careful. sorry if i offended anyone by misspelling intelligence,
I thought I fired the spell police??? :)
I am sorry, but I just have to laugh that you misspelled intelligence........No disrespect. I am just cracking up.......lol
Nauty.........:-)
I know some people who have pointed out discrepancies and got banned. They (medhelp monitor) call it a direct attack
again....you have an extraordinary way with words...RITFL.
I'll agree, some of the most intelligent addicts are on this board and others like it. We should give ourselves a round of applause! :)
No, you're right. You get two types usually...*smart addicts*...and...the type I tend to meet on the streets in mid town when I go to the clinic...I call them "Clinic people". They're not smart...not creative...and talk non-stop...about anything, with a tone of desperation that makes you think if they stop talking for a moment, they're afraid they'll cease to exist from not being noticed.
Ugh, sorry...did that sound cruel? I go back and forth between feeling sorry for these types and being eternally irritated by them.
I agree that the people on the forums do tend to be of above average intellect. I could be very imaginative trying to obtain my DOC too!!! I have talked to idiots at times, but by no means were they lacking in intelligence. :)
i could be exceptionally imaginative and creative when trying to obtain opoids....lmao....just kidding, got off the topic there tim. but really, how many idiots do you know that you have talked to on this site? not many.....hmmmm.
I find that people who are highly sensitive seem to be more prone to addiction, including people with imaginative and creative minds. I think that is why there is so much abuse in the entertainment/artistic industry. Very interesting to ponder this observation.
you are absolutely correct! doctors do not know the answer most of the time when it comes to addiction but my point was exactly what you stated, the people here are very intelligient and well versed in this topic and need to nudge those who pass poor information.
I'd say point out the discrepancies as you see them. All of us here are trying to do the job that the doctor's are refusing to do responsibly...so any medical professional (like you, a nurse!) is more than welcome to comment in my book.
...I hope people do keep in mind that professional or not, everyone here is mostly talking from personal experience. I've found more practical knowledge in the information gained from ex-addicts then in the last 20 doctor's visits I've made.
Half the time I'm informing the doctor of what's appropriate in addiction treatment. Some are just ignorant (not their specialty)...and some...are just *sses, who's own prejudices block their ability to apply their medical knowledge appropriately.
And some, sadly, are just afraid to get involved at all because of possible negative repercussions to themselves.
