Man oh man that stuff is something.  I have a pretty high tolerance for stuff but soma knocks me on my a$$.  I was having horrible neck pain last night and took some, and this morning i woke up like I had partied all night.  It actually makes me black out.  I don't know what it is about it but d*mn!!

Hi. I am rather new to this forum, but let me tell you Soma is addicting. I take it for back pain and only started out a two pills a day. I am now at seven, and I have spoke to my doctor about it. He told me it is normal to develop a tolerance to this drug, but given my past drug abuse history I am now tapering off. Soma has a sedative in it unlike most muscle relaxants. This sedative (forgot the same) is similar to valium, xanax, and other types of benzo. drugs. Soma is not a benzo. per say, but it definately does the trick when it comes to taking away pain. I hate muscle relaxers in general, they have never done anything for me, but when I started taking Soma I felt great. Be careful with it. It can be as addicting as any narcotic, even though it is not classified as one. I know alot about drugs in general. I have a degree in clinical psychology and I am a former drug abuser who still needs to watch out these days. It's easy to get hooked, especially if you have abused drugs in the past. I don't think it is as addicting as hydrocodone (my drug of choice back in the days-used to take 15 a day and stopped cold turkey-went through a week of hell-physical withdrawal), but everyone is different. I'm glad to hear you are going to stop taking it. I am in the process of getting my medication switched. I am down to four pills a day now for my back. Better than before. Let me know if I can help. I'm super hyper too...but tired, if that makes sense...the percs make me calm but energized....crazy I know but that's what I get....muscle relaxers knock me out too...Flexeril puts me in a coma...I'm talking the 5's..not even the 10's....crazy how we can be so tolerant to one med and dead to the world on another...

They were what started me on this road--I loved the knocked feeling--somehow being as hyper as I am I was great on them---then came the stomach pain the I would get sick for 2-3 days---throwing up!!!  It took 2 times for me to finally realize it was the Soma--move to hydro not realizing I obviously had a problem---geez to basically O.D. my self and not get it!!!!!!!

Hi there,

They are in my opinion are not nearly as bad to withdraw from as hydro's.  I felt uncomfortable for a couple days (coming off them cold turkey) but then I was ok.  I much rather get off Soma then hydro's anyday.  They did knock me out at times too.  I was up to taking four at a time before they would knock me out though.

Nice to see you back girl.  Haven't seen you in awhile.  Hope your doing well.  I haven't had Soma in years, but remembered it TKO'd me out too.  Seems like a bunch of us are coming out of the woodwork these days...

Hey guys.... I have missed you all.  Yeah, I'm definitely DONE.  No more soma, nothing.  That stuff was even more dangerous than the hydro!  None of it is good, though.  But I definitely understand the "soma coma" now.  Eeeeek.

hey----just caught this and wanted to add a little note about SOMA...that was when I really started 'needing' while taking Soma, then I went to hydro and oxy....just fyi...my experience:(
