We really do see your point throwindatowl and being clean today definitely counts, but counting is important to me too. I am so excited to be able to say 3 weeks in a few days that its almost ridiculous! :)
And I don't want to do anything to mess that up.
I get your point and I think all of the ones that replied do as well. It is day by day, sometimes minute by minute. There are times when X amount of clean days will get you through a rough day or a craving.. you will think, do I really want to lose 60 days of clean time and start all over.
Thanks for sharing on your post. Congrats on how you are doing. Good Luck and God Bless.
Just wanted to add something because I dont want it to seem like I am against your post. If that works for you then that is FANTASTIC and I do understand what you mean. I guess I just personally like keeping track ; )
I agree with narla, I am extremely proud of the clean time I have. Also I hope it inspires people to know that it is possible to make it through the journey of sobriety. Don't get me wrong I live day to day with my addiction because I know it only takes ONE moment of weakness to relapse and counting my days makes me thing of all the hard work I've done to stay stay.
Yep narla, I love looking at my calender seeing it all x'd up for almost this whole month now. Makes me happy! I do see your point but keeping track is not a bad thing. Its rewarding for me. I still focus on today and only today, but at the end of the day I put that X on my calender and it feels good knowing thats another day clean.
I think with me it makes me proud of how far I have come,I still live my life and sobriety day by day,but it is good to see how many days I have struggled with sobriety, because every day is a huge step forward.
