Tramadol
Had to go to my doctor yesterday due to a recurring headache. First time I've had a chance to tell him I've been off of Tramadol for nearly 3 months (he wanted to put me on them again for my headaches)..I told him "no" and why and he repeated the mantra that tramadol is not addictive. "perhaps not when used as directed, but I can tell you case after case of people i know who have become addicted to it and go through worse withdrawls than many other opiates. He was quite surprised. Told him I'm off them, cancelled all my refills and never again unless I have serioius injuries.
At any rate, he thinks my recurring headaches (I've had this one for about 2 weeks) are stress related and I think he's right..not that I'm under any stress of course.

I found tramadol just as if not more addictive than vicodin and much harder to get off of. My doctor told me it's not addictive and I said "John (I can call him that) gave him this website and see how you feel)..sure it's not addictive when taken as directed but one's resistance builds up and before long..you're addicted.
My advice would be to go to the substance abuse topic as you've landed on the "social" topic and I know there are plenty of people on there who could offer you advice. I got off them by tapering, though I can't offer you tapering advice here...your doctor would be the best person to do that.

Ive been taking Zydol SR 200mg daily for a year now. I began taking it after an oilfield injury that doesnt seem to be getting any better. The problem I have now is I find myself taking 7 to 8 of these pills a day just to have the same effects. Ive tried to go cold turkey off the Zydol and deal with it, but I end up getting really sick. I guess Im just concerned that I even got to this point. Im in my twenties and have a great job over seas... really dont know what or where to go for help. Im also wondering how this is impacting my organs if at all? The Doctors told me that Tramadol isnt addictive, but I find it much more than Vicodin ect.... any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks man.
