I watched a couple of the Packer games and I wasn't too impressed. I have been a Packer fan dating back to Vince Lombardi. There seemed to be something missing. It's like the players were just going through the motions and the next time out they are like world beaters and then they seem to rest on the laurels of their win until they get beat and then it's back to business. A team has to give 100% each game and if they don't then it becomes another loss.
Hey the Leafs are yet to get going yet. It's way too early to write them off.
Try being a Raiders fan!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
The Packers are one behind the Lions in the division. You call that terrible? In the tank? Guess you are really not a fan.
I Guess the comment was misconstrued probably because I failed to explain. I am a great fan of all sports but this year all my favorite teams are in the tank, TheToronto Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and Argonauts are terrible this year as are my Steelers and Packers. This has to be the lousiest year I have had in a long time. So when somebody asks how my teams are doing, my comment is usually,"Duh!"
Okay so there has to be something for us on here who are not so sports oriented. College football I can do because I root for the school I just got my Masters from....it's a big time football school...OU. Otherwise I'm lost too.
I tried to get fired up about sports. I honestly wish I could, I feel like I miss out on a lot of fun. Being a Texas Hillbilly and surrounded by sports all the time growing up, you would think I would have a speck of passion for it. I think it is my lack of suspension of disbelief. I can't see the game, I see sweaty men jumping on each other for millions of dollars that could go to better use. I don't view sports as bad, I just can't stop seeing the reality of it, though I wish I could. I tried, genuinely tried to watch games with friends and simply kept thinking of the commercials and scandals, gluttony, booze, and mindless distraction of the masses. I'll talk about recent bombings of innocent people and nobody even knows about it, but they know who won the game last night. Another black man was shot dead by the cops? Really, I didn't hear, I was watching THE GAME. Sports are kind of like a trigger for me, I came to realize. So yeah, GO TIGERS! That's a ferocious animal, it must be a football team, right? DUH! I am hopeless in this regard, I have accepted it and will just have to be jealous of the hooting and hollering, laughs and game parties.
